Just installed some BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 285/60r18 on Tuff A.T. T01 18x9 rims with a +10 offset. Had to remove the factory mud flap but now rub free. Thought I would share some pics and rim specs for others.
I'm planning on adding front Bilstein 5100's set at 1.75. I would like to get some opinions on if I should replace my springs?
I only have 68k on them but they have seen 10 Iowa winters, the powder coat is flaking a little I noticed. If I do get new springs is it better to get the lift from a taller spring or setting the Bilstens at 1.75?
I mainly use my truck as a daily driver not off-roading so a smooth ride is the goal.

If you have the cash, I say use the coils for the lift.

I started with just billies @1.75 and then went to OME 887 coils and the billies @0. Preloading your factory coils makes the ride stiffer and I found that on long rides I was getting annoyed with the stiffness up front.

Thanks Chase8059 for the info i don't want to spend alot on a lift but also don't want to install something not be happy with it then spend more to fix it. i might lift the rear 1-1.5 as well, i like the stance my truck currently has just want the space back I lost with the bigger tires. I'll check out the OME 887, I was looking at the 883 and 885's earlier

The 887s are the tallest spring by OME. They should give you 3in up front. I believe they have the same spring rate as the shorter coils (with exception to 886).

5100s are a great option, and if you are comfortable with doing the work yourself you can start with just the billies, and if you decide they are too stiff when preloaded, just buy coils and swap our your factory ones.

Those tires are only 31.5" so I wouldn't expect them to really rub. Truck looks good!

comfortable doing it myself just don't want to have to pay for alignment each time. Most likely I'll go with the 885 from Toyteclifts and the 5100's that should give me atleast 1.5 lift.

I've seen alot of post on here of others saying 285/60r18 would rub like hell without a lift. those who said they don't never know for sure their wheel backspacing. the backspacing is huge, a -12 would rub bad but the +10 does not

Close enough. It's no chance that size will rub

I agree. Those shouldn't rub even without a lift. Hitting the mudflaps is all about diameter of the tire and spacers, not the lift, since the suspension moves up and down not front to back.

Love the look of the truck though! I have the KO2s in 34/10.5/17 on my truck and they are awesome! (and yes I still have the mudflaps :D )

I like that look. I really like those rims. I have 265/75/r16 ko2's. Am liking that flow.

I think when people were saying 285's would rub they weren't talking about a 60 series 18.

I realize this is an old post. I've been watching this site for years, but just now decided to sign up. I really like the wheel and tire setup you have. You've inspired me and I'd like the exact setup. You mentioned you were contemplating the Bilstein shock upgrades, so I'm wondering if you did that and was it needed with the slightly larger tires? Is it still working out for you and have you had any issues? Thanks in advance.

I saw that, but I was hoping. That's too bad. Thank you.
