I know they are practically the same tire, other then the size of the rim but i was wondering if anyone has any preference between the two, i am running a 3" revtek on my 07 taco and i know both fit, but wanted to get some ideas on performance and look of what everyone thought. hope to see some posts!! thanks!!

i like the look of the 285x70rx17, check my pics out, i even have one of the tire/rim combo. of course the truck came with 17" rims so i thought i would just stay with the same size.

they rub on the inside, mine still rubbed even with one spacer plate, les schwabb would not use 2 spacer plates together. Thats why i bought new rims also. the other day i saw a tacoma with the same tires as i have with the stock rims, now i didnt get a chance to talk to owner of the truck to see his story, but he either used 2 spacer plates or his tires are rubbing and he doesnt know it.

The good news is you can't go wrong! the 285's will look good on 16's or 17's.....

I like the look of a lot of tire, so the 16s would be my choice.... but... if you have some good lookin after market 17's, the little bigger rim looks better than 16s, .... but both will look good so the good news is, either way, you can't make a bad choice!
