Will a 285/70/17 fit in the stock spare tire location? My main concern is the rear diff hitting it at full compression. Still use the bed of the truck to full capacity quite often and don't want to do a tire gate because I love having the backup camera for daily driving so really want to have a full sized spare in the stock location. I realized this may have already been discussed so please either lead me to the correct thread or give me any mods needed to make this work.

    Thank you

Yea it fit and barely rubs the diff...
But now I jumped to 315s so I need to get a new spare and throw it on the bed

Is there a way to prevent the diff from rubbing? Right now from my semi drunken measurements it looks like I only have 1/2 inch of clearance from the stock tire size and from measuring my worn 285's I would need just over an inch to fully clear.

Planning on putting a brand new tire for the spare and then when I replace my worn tires( in about a year judging their wear) putting the new tire on as a daily driver and one of the worn out tires as the spare.
