285 75 16 KO2 only available in load range E?

I've been wanting to get some 285 75 16's and the KO2's look attractive due to their reputation as a good highway AT and high mileage tire. From all I can see they are only offered in load range E. Is that true?

just bought a set, installing them this weekend hopefully.

 

there are very few IF ANY tires in a 285/75R16 size that are NOT a load range E. Thats a pretty standard 1 ton truck size tire and you dont run anything less than an E on those bitches.

Discount Tire made me call them to "confirm the vehicle they're getting placed on", when in actually they just tried to sell me warranty certificates.. kind of annoying.

 

So how are you liking them so far?

certs are actually a good investment

 

The E Load is it, unfortunately. Had them on for 30k now and still holding up nicely. Will buy again when the time comes.

 

+1. Discount Tire's replacement certs are a good deal, offering the only road hazard warranty (about which I'm aware) that isn't hobbled by prorated coverage.

 

How much do they cost? Doesn't appear to be listed on their certification info page.

 

The price of the cert depends on the price of the tire. My older BFG AT certs where like 32 a piece.

 

I agree. Wife and I have had 3-4 tires replaced with them so they have already paid for them and then some.

 

New KO2's are the same price, maybe 34 but yah pretty close.

 

For those curious: 255 ST MAXX next to the 285 ko2. I know it's a bad comparison with the Cooper's under load, but gives an idea.

(I was suprised at the lack of extremely noticeable difference).
