I haven't been able to find much about this tire size. The specific tire I'm looking at are the 285/75r17 KM2's which TreadDepot specs out to be 33.9" tall and 11.26" wide. If anyone has this size tire on their 2nd gen please post pics and tell me how much trimming you had to do. Thanks for all help in advance.

I've been looking at this size also. Nitto is coming out with their new ridge grappler in the size in a C rating which would be good since it will be much lighter than an E rates in this size. Hopefully someone who's got this size will chime in.

The KM2 in that size is exactly what I'm looking at too.

Hopefully. I like this tire size a lot better than the 295/70r17 option.

Search a little. This question gets asked literally ever day. With a 3" lift you will have to cmc and trim the inner fenders and hammer the pinch weld.

Also with this size you may want to think about regearing. Most guys dont but it turns your truck into a slug.

I wasn't able to find much other than a thread where a guy was running fiberglass fenders. So it wasn't of much use to me. I don't plan on ever running aftermarket fenders.

What gears would you suggest? I already have 3.73 so upgrading to 4.10s doesn't seem cost effective, but 4.56 seems like overkill.

Ya most guys go 4.56. It really depends of how and what you use your truck for. If you dont wheel a lot go 255s or 265s.

Remember this thread is about 285-75 which is a 34" tire. The 285-70 question does get asked everyday but that's not what this thread is about. There is very little info regarding this tire size when you search. But thanks for being the first guy to say "why don't you try to search" I was wondering how long it would take for someone to say that, not long.
Now that that's out of the way we can wait for someone who might actually have first hand experience with this tire size to share his experience

I'm looking at this tire size as well. Right now i have 285/70 and would like to go a bit bigger with the 285/75.
I know @2ndGenJonny runs em. Maybe he can chime in.

CMC, pinch weld and a little bit of plastic to fit them.

Alot of people talk about regearing at 285s, it's definitely on the tipping point in terms of size. I ran 285s on my 07 without regear, just mash the skinny pedal a little more. It becomes habit, and you forget about in a little while, jmho

Edit Oops I see this thread is for 285/75/17... wasn't aware that was a thing, haha

I shift between 3rd & 4th manually if i need to keep 75 on hills. Otherwise, im fine without a regear. Its a truck, not a racecar.

how rt you are! i helped TACOfms clearance for his and you can't get away with the normal partial chop on the cmc either we cut the face off the cab mount all the way to the frame and cut the end all the way back to the access opening underneith. i fabbed the plates and welded everything back completely boxing it back in. pinch weld, fender liners, everything had to be clearenced

So how much lift do you currently have up front? Truck looks good man. Thanks for posting so we could see it.
