I have an 04 prerunner and have ordered bilstein 5100 for all 4 corners. i was wondering if i could run 285 75 16's on stock rims with the bilsteins set at 2.5"?

you'll probably experience rubbing on the upper control arm, pinch weld, possibly inner fender plastic, and probably the frame

Yup definitely doable buy you will have some rubbing at full turn or if you go over bumps. If you plan on doing any offroading I would stick with a 265/75.

derekabraham has the newer body style tacoma. Not the older 04' body style, therefore it'll rub on different areas due to the different design of the truck.

    my statement still stands

i come VERY close to rubbing and i have wheels that are backspaced out further than stock...ive hammered the pinch weld...and ive trimmed the inner fender liner...i still get some frame rub while turning if the wheel is pushed up into the wheel well like over a curb or speed bump or something to that effect
