Do you need to do cab mount chop for 295/70/17s on 3 inch? Or just trimming of fenders?

I have 305/65/17 on my 3in lift and I only had to trim the plastic where the mud flap bumps out for the flare and the inner fender in front of the wheel, just so they don't rub when turning; but I wouldn't want to get the truck all twisted up offroad [the tires are too big for serious offroading] but haven't hit the bodymount yet

You will need to do some chopping of the cab mount. But they will work fine.

Because his tire has a smaller diameter than a 295/70/17.

295/70/17... trimmed like a mofo, but no cab-mount chop done (yet). Rubs only at full lock-out while in reverse.

I run 'em. I trimmed a bit here and there. Chopped my cab mounts - wanted to stuff and have full lock rotation while offroad. No more issues. Probably bumping to 315's after these tires but we will see....
