It is much faster. As it has been said, you aren't waiting for the front ADD to switch, it speeds up the change-over immensely.

Not required, but if you are squeamish about working around the airbag it's a good safety measure.

    What’s the deal with AOB?
Will they ever have the 2L switch available?

Anyone have a pic of the CH4x4 blue compared with stock?

Last someone said, AOB is still at least a few weeks out getting more stock.

There are some crappy pictures in the development thread I think. It's not that far off and depending on where you are mounting the switch you may not even notice.

I got mine in New Blue from AoB not long before @lapoltba started taking orders. It arrived quickly. The only reason that I jumped on there was because they also had garage door opener switches available at the time. That one is rarely stocked also.

Obviously, any on-off switch will work temporarily if you are chomping at the bit to get the 2LM installed.

    That is super important.
Note, once you are in 2Lo completely (2Lo switch ON, 4Lo dial, transfer case switched) you can right then deactivate the 2Lo switch and the truck will stay in 2Lo until any significant event, such as engine start or 4wd mode changes.

Depending on your sequence of events in the evening/morning, you may want to activate 2Lo (4wd to 4lo on dial), deactivate 2Lo switch, back in, switch dial to 2hi.
(that might make it less likely to forget to turn off 2Lo switch... not sure, just something to think about...)

    I never bothered with battery,
It is safer, but in this case I think there is minimal risk with leaving battery connected...
(airbag is only possible issue with battery)...

Just dont do the mod with the truck turned on please.

You will likely get a CAN bus communication error for the ABS module and 4X4 ecu. Just don't do it.

I thought about that, but the only time she takes the Taco is in an emergency. And, the only that has happened, I backed it our for her.

Still, I will go over it with her. The big old dash lights should at least get her to call me in a crazy situation.

Correct, and it's a hard fault, that requires a code reader to clear

I’m really impressed with the quality of the harness!!!!! It’s awesome!

My switch is already wired and powered in the truck. I’m assuming I can tap into the new harness with the accessory/trigger wire from my switch and everything should work.

Alright I just got my P&P harness installed, I am not sure it is working right. Truck feels like it is still in 2hi and 4low indicator is flashing and beeping...

I suppose, but why would you want to cut it up since it has the connector on it already? Unless you have your switch tied into the illuminationcircuit already?

Can you get it to go into 4L successfully (without the switch)?

Correct I have the one wire ready to go from a switch in the overhead panel. I don’t want to pull the a pillar and roof apart again.

Got it. Yeah, just make a note of the wires before you cut. You need to give the relay ground and power (switch signal).

There should be zero change from before if you don't touch the 2Lo switch. So, you should feel bind in corners in 4Hi and get into 4Lo as before.

If you turn on the switch in 2Hi, you should have 2Hi when the knob is turned to 4Hi and 2Lo and you get it into 4Lo.

To get to 2Lo / 4Lo, you still need to be stopped (2mph or less) and clutch fully in / disengaged.

You have to turn the 2Lo switch off before you go from 4Hi to 2Hi.

Sorry if I am over explaining. Just covering all the bases.
