Yeah, OT but I’ll keep it short, I’m soldering switches to the lift master remote control. And I already bought an old school commercial receiver so range is excellent already. The switches will just allow me to hide the physical remote behind trim so it looks cooler / more factory. And hopefully some day soon with the illumination harness, or if/when I tap into my DSIM T harness, they will be back lit too so I can see at night.

So the tint helps even out the bright/dim spots? I don’t intuitively see how tint would do something like that but I will hunt for that thread out of curiosity

Yes. That was the mod that I was attempting. I had an old larger sized remote that worked if I was close, sometimes. Basically in the driveway. I bought a couple keychain remotes that I was going to mod and hide, but the MyQ was found before I got around to those.

With the rules capability (like the 5min door open alert), multiple heads and accessories (we have none, but . . .), and IoT capability, it is exactly what we needed.

    No. Two separate things:

    1. The tint helps the other blues match the OEM color.

    2. The AoB Toyota blue lighting, while matching, is not as even as an actual Toyota switch. Not a big deal for me. I mentioned that because it was posted by someone else. Just level setting expectations.

I got bit twice by the failing / leaky capacitor and arriving back home with garage door open. And I’m on a busy street. Reverted to old school wall panels and a commercial receiver. Way more reliable now and incredible range with keychain or visor remote. I have no love for myQ. None.

thank you. I understand now. Poor reading comprehension got me again. Thanks for spelling it out :). I’ll peek closer at my switch and the new garage switches.

That is one of the primary reasons why we got excited about it. Our garage is below our bottom floor. Originally, we had a small mirror angled on our lowest stair rail post to verify the door was closed at night. Upgraded to a low res wifi cam with remote viewing. That worked killer, but the idea of a net enabled control had me blowing out the board with an earlier device (I'm generally not good with angry pixies). The MyQ unit is enjoyed by my wife and daughters, so that is an even bigger deal than how much I like it. World wide range and alerts, not to mention secure in-garage deliveries. Perfect for us.

That's the one I bought and it's pretty close. Maybe not quite as bright during the day but it works for me.

I have started another group buy list. It will be a 50 person minimum again. I believe I got everyone that said they were interested while I was away. If you would like to be added please send me a PM.

I apologize to the last two orders being delayed for a few days past my return from vacation. Returning to work after two weeks away is always a complete cluster. Anyway, both are out and on their way. Will probably see them Saturday or Monday.

On another note, the new GB list is growing surprisingly fast. Feel free to tell people you know that aren't on these forums and let me know their info. I will still add people to the list as long as I know they are seriously interested.

Hey the CH4x4 site doesn’t say there are any switches for 3rd gen in the middle by the shifter. I have the wrong switch. What do I need to get to fit here? This is looking not up to par for me. But it kicks ass and use it on the daily!

I’m not sure if this is the exact one (on my phone). I have their 2 low switch in the new blue and it’s a near perfect match.

Yes, that's a large switch for left of the steering wheel. I looked on their site for what you need (same one I have also) and it's not listed. So maybe it's out of stock. There are other colors besides the light blue in stock though.

Thanks for your input. I’ll reach out to them. I guess I might be out of luck for the time being.

If they are out of stock, it’s usually only for a few weeks. At least that’s been my experience when trying to get switches.

caveat: pre COVID experience of course. :)
