Is that a MESO 3 button overhead switch panel? If so which part did you order?

Installed the harness on my AT Taco yesterday without issue I think. What's the best way to tell if the front wheels are disengaged or not? My turning radius still seems diminished like it's actually in 4L. Also, is it typical for the trans to shift so fast and hard while using the mod? Thanks.

Sounds like you might be trying to drive too fast. Remember, 2lo, like 4lo, is a slow driving mod.

Hard shifts are normal, but you get more used to the shifting technique. When using this mod, i usually dont go fast enough to shift much. Usually I only am shifting from reverse to fwd with this mod...

Easiest 100% test (I think) is to jack up front end (both wheels LH and RH) in 2lo. Turn (rotate) one wheel (fwd or aft rotation), if the other wheel turns in opposite direction (aft or fwd rotation) you are in 4wd. If other wheel doesnt turn you are in 2wd.

For 2lo, truck should be in low range and in 2wd.

(If the front diff is hooked up you are in 4wd, if front diff is disconnected you are in 2wd)

It's still a slow driving mod. 4lo and 6th will net 35 mph, tops. It stands to reason that 2lo has similar speed characteristics. So it'll shift pretty roughly if you're trying to drive anything faster than a crawl.

In 2HI the propeller shaft (between the transfer case and front diff) can spin freely. I havent tested this, but I believe it doesnt spin freely in 4LO, correct? If so, I would further assume it should spin freely in 2LO. Can anyone confirm those assumptions? Assuming they are correct, you should be able to tell if you're in 2LO or 4LO by seeing if the propeller shaft spins freely, which can be done without jacking up the truck.

The reason being, normally when the truck is in 2hi, that forward prop shaft is disconnected from the transfer case, and the front diff (both), as you said. However this mod still switches the transfer case into the 4lo position just as it usually would be (required to get the low gearing). In 4Lo at the transfer case, the forward prop shaft is locked in with the rear prop shaft. So that forward prop shaft can't be easily used to tell between 2Lo and 4Lo.

I still think jacking front tires up is the easiest way to discern. It can be argued that only a single tire is needed to tell 4Lo vs 2Lo, but I think it is easiest to with both fronts wheels in the air.

Copy that, @2016Taco4Me lives 4 minutes from me, so we'll get his rig up on jack stands and test it out.

    Sounds good.
I have found quickest (for me) is to get in 2lo and shut down (in 2lo). Set parking brake. Jack on the cross-member (or heavy skids depending on if installed or no) and jacking until both front wheels are off the ground. Then just do the check on the front wheels without ever crawling under the truck, etc.

(but it is more fun and educational to put it up on all 4 corners and try out a number of scenarios as well as shifting into, out of etc 4wd, rear locker, etc...)

[Edit... All that said, if you are not getting any codes, its about 99.9% chance that it is working. It would be unlikely to have an issue with the harness or install and not get some codes thrown]

I suspect it's working as well. I remember when I first installed the mod I wasn't sure either if it was on and of course you're scared to turn the wheels and mess up your front diff if you're in 4LO.

    Bummer on the deal.

    However

Forum BST rules state you need to be active for 50 posts before trying to list things for sale. This is to keep spammers and scalpers out. some rules may seem silly but they are overall, for the benefit of the entire community and the moderators do enforce them.

My suggestion to you is to stay active in various threads including this one, and that if someone says they would like one and there aren't any available, you can message them personally. Or when you hit 50 posts, then you can repost your stuff for sale (That is a pretty good discount though, you got that right!)

    Cheers
