Any chance this will work with the 2nd gen? I know the mechanical bits are the same but I would imagine the electrics are different.

Due to differences in the 4wd ECU, the 2nd Gen version only works on 2nd Gen, and the 3rd Gen version only works on 3rd Gens.

Correct, I haven't looked into anything for the 2nd gen. This kit will not work on the 2nd gen.

My 2019 Sport is currently at the local dealer. See mods in box to left.

I took it to the dealer because it died, no fuel, would not start until after I shut all power down and cranked for awhile, then finally fuel and started and go. Has NOT repeated.

Dealer is blaming 2Lo harness. Had codes about front and rear diffs from the past. (Which sure it did from sequence error on my part). I called BS.

My fuel pump is dying, and Toyota is blaming my mod. Arggggh...........

That is bullshit. The two low mod isn't even on the same circuit. Push back harder and get a lawyer if you have to. Make them prove that's what caused it.

How did they know you had it?

I get sequence errors from time to time. That is interesting that they are stored.

Did you get hesitation at higher engine loads before the pump died?

The easiest thing to do is probably unplug the harness?

If they still mess with you, the pump replacement doesn't look too bad.

The button and the wiring sent them in a dizzy. I pushed back and the guy did back down a bit and said they are not troubleshooting yet. Told me they are just fishing...........for an easy out, a mark.........

I assume they are stored, so I assume they can be cleared, which I should have done I suppose.

I cannot say I got hard hesitation before but I KNOW how a FI engine feels when no fuel and for sure how it feels when it restarts after fuel arrives.

They are still looking so we will see

You're VIN is in on the Recall, right? It would be silly to push back if so. Gawd.

Unless it fails. Some folks had the work done as soon as possible when theirs failed. It should be easy to test.

    Still working now.

BUT it threw a CEL when no fuel last Tuesday.

I mean I get the whole it works until it doesn't idea, but some electro-mechanical stuff (read: pumps) can be intermittent.....like the in tank pump in my 1985 Toyota SR5 PU! Bang tank with rubber mallet and pump lives again

That sucks man... I will keep that in mind if I take my truck in with any engine problems. I also had sequence errors when first trying to use the mod, I should go and clear them with TS. Only if they knew you have the tune and the gears, they wouldn’t even look at your truck probably...

I did have my fuel pump replaced about 2 months ago, FWIW the old one worked perfectly fine, never a single hiccup. I have always used E0 gas though.

Wish you luck man, hopefully they will take care of you. Interested on the outcome.

It is odd that this pump can see three different voltages for different flows, so it sounds like it works fine until it gets in a high load situation and can't provide the needed flow. It is also returnless, so that plays into it with demand.

Also, if it is still work, you might wanna boogie out of there? Rodland has been great to me and I've heard nothing but good things about Michaels in Bellevue.

Good luck! Hopefully they get you sorted properly.

I had fun thrashing around in a Camry rental a few years back.
