Actually, before you come out of 4Hi. You can flick between 4Lo and 4Hi all that you want without the need to touch the button.

A DTC Reset should clear, but the only time that I saw it and cleared it was from within TS using that function.

I have had the harness for a while now, but I finally got around to installing it yesterday and joined the 2LO gang. It was a fairly easy install other than the airbag clips others have mentioned were a bit of a pain. I pulled the radio head unit to access the switches.

I've been throwing it in 4LO to pull my pontoon boat up the ramp to save my clutch, but that's kind of a pain since I have to stop at the top of the ramp once it levels off a bit before I have to do any real turns to get it out of 4WD. This mod should make things much nicer at the ramp.

US Domestic shiping fee will be increasing to offset the cost of signature/delivery confirmation. All shipments to US addresses moving forward will require a signature at delivery. I realize this is very inconvenient, but unfortunately people suck.

What happens if you stall in 2 o?
Does is reset back to 4lo?
I don’t know that I’ve ever stalled my truck in 4lo/2lo.
Recently I stalled more times than necessary and think I should have spent many miles in 2Lo.

Are you just dimming the switch backlighting or is it on all the time?

Worst case can't the illumination be tapped into a neighboring switch?

I didn't realize this came out, I was waiting for this and the "anytime locker".
Always used 2LO on my 93 pathy to park in steep hills and hold it parked....the joys of Warn hubs!

The LED is stupidly bright so it needed to be dimmed down because driving at night was annoying.

Gotcha, I'd definitely cut it into the other switch illumination and that blue is super annoying as well but I'm not going to change all of the switches.
For me even the "D" on the shifter was annoying, I cut a piece of dark window tint film and laid it over and it helped a bit.

I agree. I hear that the dimmer is controlled through the ground.

and this guy knows the answer

    This is good stuff indeed.

Anyone with a SR/SR5/Sport that has a rear locker utilize this mod?

Locked in 2WD/LOW would be the kind when and where 4WD can’t be used.

    Real good stuff.

Tested in automatic, I dont have any reason to expect different behavior in manual truck, but dont recall anybody ever testing it and letting me know...

If dash selector is kept in 4lo, and the added switch is in 2lo ON position, the truck can be shut off, restarted, stall, etc and will still be in 2Lo.

    See my original instruction manual:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/attachments/2whl-lo-rev-1-1-5-31-21-pdf.4559074/

    7. Note: The truck can be left in 2-Low when shut off, by leaving the dial selector in 4Lo and the added 2Wheel Low switch activated, but make sure spouses know this. If the truck is changed back to 2Hi with the 2Wheel Low switch activated, a computer error will result, (as the truck is confused by the front ADD refusing to switch back to 2wd. To clear the error; select 2Hi on the dash selector dial, deactivate the added 2Wheel Low switch, and power cycle the truck (ignition off, ignition on). Truck should return to normal operation.

I can confirm, truck in 4lo with 2lo switch on. Turned truck off. Restarted and was still in 2lo with no issues. I was crawling in a Walmart parking lot.:anonymous:

I had no need for the Qi charger so I removed the switch and used the dimmer control wires off that to power the 2lo switch, Anytime back up camera switch and light bar switch. Worked well and now I have dimmable illumination on those three switches. Just wish the blue was a better match for the factory shade.

Are your switches “air on board” brand? The light blue seems pretty good.

Thanks. I did not have that manual bookmarked and only searched and found this thread.
I was on steep mountain roads the other day and am really upset I wasn’t in 2lo the whole time.
