Hello All from the 1st gen side! I've always been jealous of the 2nd gen ARB Bumper with these fog lamp surrounds (see below). I would like to retrofit my 1st gen ARB Bumper with these cut outs. They look like they will fit, however you know what they say about measuring twice. I'm also concerned about the angle the bumper "wings" form with the center. For those with the recessed lights for ARB, can you answer my questions below? Need to know if the retrofit is feasible or if I need to go custom for this. Thanks!

    • The overall dimensions of the surround

    • The angle formed by the center section and the wing surface the light mounts to.

    • Is the angle of the light adjustable at all? Are the lights universal or do you have to use ARB lights?

    4 run, 2 don't
Buy the light fixture, and cut out a larger slot in your bumper.

    That is plan B.

I like the clean look of the light surround, which is why I'm exploring this option. Unless you are aware of other surrounds that work like this one for the FJ ARB Bumper (below), I like that one because it appear to have a more universal light mount. This doesn't appear like it would work for the 1st gen Bumper. The angle on the bumper wings looks relatively extreme compared to the 1st gen bumper. So the turn signal lamp my be pointed in the weird direction and look weird.

Height and width (based on the Slee inserts which I think are ever so slightly larger on the exterior flange than the stock ARB ones, you can see the ghost lines from the plastic inserts in the pics in my thread linked below):
    IMG_20220528_181428.jpg IMG_20220528_181446.jpg

(Width is ~13.25" plus or minus finger/eye error when moving the ruler)

The ARB plastic inserts are not adjustable for angle, and require ARB (or specifically compatible) lights. The Slees are adjustable for angle on the fog pod (just turn the pedestal however you want), but not the turn signal slot, though you could trim the mounting surface down to tabs and come up with whatever custom brackets you wanted to adjust depth on either end.

Also, I have a thread about those Slee inserts that might give you a better sense of what might be doable with them:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/slee-bezel-install-diode-dynamics-fogs-in-arb-deluxe.739742/

I also have the plastic original inserts and unused turn signal kits from my ARB if you need them.

I wanted better fog lights, like way better  I hated the stonk ARB ones, very lack luster.

Next we are modding that plate for a 2nd set, they will be angled out for ditch lights.:fistbump:
