Still need to get some steel for recovery points, and decide what to do with the lights and license plate hinge.

I'm thinking about ditching the air tank idea as well, I want more travel in the rear and I think bags will limit it.

Hey cool had no idea, but I still would rather buy one.
I've been talking to my wife and I might get one soon. I'm thinking hypertherm 45xp

Just looked at the link it would be almost a 500 mile drive to rent one and the prices are pretty steep would probably be cheaper to draw up what you want and have a metal shop cut it all. Neat idea though.

Just a couple of teaser pics. Nothing is tacked on yet, but I'm done for the day.image.jpgimage.jpg All the pieces I have are just rough cut and will be fine tuned as I put it together. Like the point in the bottom will be cut off for example.

If I had more hands I could have held the sides up too and took a picture, but that wasn't working out lol.

Well, that was only one company that rents them, so there may be others in your area.

And if you can get the measurements for the pieces, then you're probably right. But you've got to commit to the design up front. I'm thinking of "making it up as a go along" so I can make changes and adjustments along the way. I'm not an artist or anything like that, I just don't have the confidence to settle on a design and commit to it.

I've tried Sketchup, etc. to get ideas, but there may be interface and mounting issues that won't be known until I've got the build going. So having the tools and materials on hand will be important.

Yea that's how I prefer to build as well, but I think I'll just save up and buy a plasma cutter that way I can have it forever.

I'm on a holiday shutdown at work right now so we're working a lot of hours repairing and upgrading equipment. I haven't had any time this week to even walk into the garage. I will be back at it next week though so stay tuned.

It's okay though nobody got hurt and I can fix the paint in about five minutes, as far as there car they didn't even have insurance so at least I do to cover it.

I'll try to grab a pic in the daylight if I get a chance it's hard when you work dark to dark lol. One more day of work then three days off. On a bright note my wife gave her consent to buy a power max 45xp if I want to... Still torn if I need a plasma cutter or I just feel like I need it right now lol. It's hard to justify spending around two grand even if I know I will never regret it.
