Ps. If you can't tell I'm not in a huge rush to finish it. Lol
I actually just do it more for fun than anything when I have a little extra time.

Lol still more work to be done. I'm actually in Florida right now on vacation but I'm hoping to be able to get some work done on it on Monday. Glad to see your still tagging along for the build. I've been doing a lot of research lately and have found a few possible future projects, nothing for sure just things that I find pretty neat.
Like something for camping. Not sure if I want a topper either hard or soft and if soft possibly a homemade CanBack style. Otherwise I might go the trailer route as I have a 4x8 trailer sitting in my yard that basically is just an axle and leaf springs. Hmmm something like these maybe image.jpg

Or for the trailer either a teardrop or one of these
    image.jpg
Do any of you guys camp? I haven't since I was a kid but I think it would be a lot of fun for not that much money once your all set up.

Also there is a black hardtop for sale locally for $500 but it isn't raised on the top so I think it might not be good for camping in. image.jpgAnyone ever try sleeping in one of these? Seems like a tight fit.

I'm getting myself a softtopper in a few months out of Denver. But also making a bed rack to fit a roof top tent eventually! I went camping all the time growing up. Now I'm in the army and don't get much time. A few more months and I can go again. Need any ideas, my dad has made a few things that I can get pics of and show you

I'm want to build one also (rear bumper with two swing outs) my question is where did you get the swing hinges? I've been looking around and can't seem to get a good idea of what i want.

Check out the spindles from comp4x4.com

That is where I got mine. It's super beefy. You just cut a hole in the bumper, drop the sleeve and spindle down in there and weld it in. It comes with all the necessary hardware (bearings, races, dust caps, etc)

He used 1 sheet of plywood on the floor of it. All the frame he welded and the tie down hooks. The back piece of wood slides out and is made to put on the back like a table. Bolted the tough box to the front and has actual locks for it. Any other questions on it just ask!

Hey guys, it's been a while, sorry for the delay I've had a lot of family and work things happen this year so far.

I started to finally get back to the bumper.
It is fully welded and now on the grinding phase. I will still have to add a licence plate bracket and find a place to mount my trailer light socket, along with drilling holes for inner fender mount push buttons.
But here it is as of right now.20170626_114641.jpg 20170626_114651.jpg 20170629_213125.jpg 20170629_213143.jpg

Still a few hours of grinding/smoothing to do, but I'm happy with how it is coming along.

Here is an idea .... put the license plate mount on hinges and mount it to hide your hitch ... like they use to do for gas tank filler.

    Oh Ya looks awesome!

I just am not certain where I will mount the trailer plug.
