Also incase anybody was wondering with the paint it brings this project right about to the $200 mark total.... Could have been less but I think I bought about 3x as much paint as I really needed because I don't want to have to go back and get more half way through.

Bumper looks amazing bro! Great work!! I finished up a rear high clearance bumper with a swing out tire carrier a few months back and now I wanna do a front plate bumper like this. Thanks for the inspiration!! Really did a good job

Impressive! I dig the lines and details, you clearly put all the thought into the design and did things right. Now you've got me wanting to sell off my Relentless bumper and build my own!

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. After I make the skid plates I plan on making frame sliders and a high clearance rear bumper..... Who knows what else tire carrier is a good possibility.

Nice work OP. I didn't read the entire thread, did you buy a plasma cutter? If not, I suggest you try one of these: https://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=9324

I have one similar and have cut 1/8 inch stock with it using a piece of bar stock clamped to the work piece to guide the drag tip in a straight line. You just pull the torch towards you at an even speed. No warp, hardly any slag, and a perfect straight cut.

Mine was a lot cheaper than the one in the link, but I bought it 30 years ago. ;)

Yes I did have fog lights. That's actually what I used for power to the light bar. I would have cut round holes in the wings and put recessed fog lights but I hit a deer and one of the fog light housings got lost along with the plastic bumper getting all cracked up. The paint I ended up using is just matte black spray paint with a matte clear coat. We'll see how it holds up.

I still may add a light to each wing in the future if I can find some round led fogs I like.

image.jpg Finally got around to starting to build a skid plate sorry about the camera angle don't have the mounts finished yet so I had the wife snap a quick pic so I could see how it was looking. For the mounts I bent up a piece of 1-3/4" Dom tubing that will have plate welded to the bottom with holes that bolt into the sway bar mount location... I removed my sway bar about a year ago and there's no way I'll be putting that pos back on, rides and flexes a million times better without it. Still deciding on how I'm going to mount the top.

Thanks guys it's a slow work in progress.... I have a Miller 211 welder @jackkpecoraa18. This whole bumper has been welded on 110v though because I bought a new house and still need to run 230v to the garage. image.jpgHere's what I came up with for a skid plate mount it is really solid.image.jpghere you can see the approach angle.image.jpgthis is just an example of the weld you can get on 110v this is one of the bottom mounts for the skid still needs holes and mounting hardware.image.jpghere is where it sits right now. As you can see I had to torch the holes out a little bit to get it to fit how I wanted it. I'm thinking when I'm done I'll paint the tubing red and the skid black.
