Just did this on my 2011 trd sport. Worked perfect.
I bought two, $18 clock springs from Amazon hoping one woukd work as they had mixed reviews.
The first one I tried worked perfect.

    My symptoms were no horn.

My factory clock spring did have this extra piece on it that I transferred over to the new clock spring.

Oddly enough I noticed a slight clicking the other day while turning the wheel. I replaced the CS a couple of months ago and never heard anything until the other day. I figured it was the cold weather and the truck sitting outside. Haven't heard it again. My CS was a junkyard buy. Didn't stop the airbag light from being illuminated though.
Make sure the CS is centered at 2 1/2 revolutions either side of it before install.

I didn’t check the rotations but after I pulled the tab I didn’t let it rotate at all.

They are sending a new one

I’m going to probably install the new one WITHOUT removing the battery cables. My truck runs extremely terrible after I do and takes a really long time to go back to normal. It’s so bad that it literally turns off sometimes coming to a stop.

From what I understand you have to disconnect battery and allow several minute discharge or your airbag may explode. I won't swear to it but....

Heard that too. Can’t see how that could happen but it is a risk I guess lol. Probably just end up disconnecting just in case

So I just did this and now my traction control light wont turn off and the traction buttons dont work. CC works tho. There was a random connector behind the steering wheel I could not figure out where it went, so i just put everything back together.

There shouldn’t be any random connectors left unplugged.

I tried two eBay clock springs

Both sucked. One airbag light on immediately and stiff steering. Other one works fine but has a single click while turning

I’m not sure. I think it goes behind the clock spring. My tacoma didn’t have that part

The clockspring in my 2006 was replaced for free by the local Toyota dealer. It has a recall or a TSB, can't remember which.

Great writeup. Did mine over The Weeknd and everything turned out great. Started backing out of the barn and the air bag light came on again the horn and the radio controls work but the airbag light is on. When when I drove it down the road I also noticed that the turn signals are not cancelling. I don't know what I did wrong or broke inside that I took my time.

I think my clock spring is lose or corroded. No airbag light on but horn only works when sterring wheel is not centered.
