Guys this information can be found but its buried and seems to come up as just another suggestion to: the grinding noise heard at certain speeds and especially deceleration.

I believe this is mostly heard on regular cabs. I tried the swapping of the driveshaft and it quieted down until my gear change. ECGS also predicted this would fix the issue.

Anyway the solution is 500 bucks and a 30 minute install. Call Tom Woods Driveshafts and order a "CV Style aka Double Cardon" driveshaft. Price will depend on length.

God that grinding noise was terrible- sounded like a chop saw chewing thru the floorpan to bite me in the ass.

I should add from what I found this is more common when lifted and gets worse with higher lifts and with regearing.. but can also occur off the lot

the only thing that has worked for me is pumping the slip joint with grease every month lol Have tried u-joints, flipping it, driveshaft spacer, etc.

shit is terrible, especially at 70mph and letting off the gas. Will have to look into this now.

I tried flipping it, tried the spacer, greased the u joints, to no avail. I have a 6inch lift so my angles are serious and it still worked. It's so nice man lol. The guys are very helpful at Tom Woods btw.

What's funny is every time you try something it seems to calm the issue down for a few miles to get your hopes up.

I getting ready to lift my regular cab about 2-2.5 inches. This isn’t inspiring confidence. It’s still going to be my daily driver. I don’t want to compromise the reliability in any way, and I can’t afford another $500 right away.

Mines been grinding since I've owned it, it doesn't affect reliability in any way shape or form. Just annoying. Embarrassing if you're on a date. That's about it

Fair enough. Just out of curiosity, how many people keep their sway bars? I’ve found some older threads, but mostly double cab V6’s. How much difference does being lighter in front end make with the 600# coils I’ll be using. Thanks for any input.

I ditched mine, and removal of the sway bar is more for the perceived benefits of offroad performance than the loss of weight. Usually folks (V6 access/double cab) that ditch the sway bars say that 600lb springs are too light and there is too much body roll on pavement but with our lightweight single cab 4 cylinders you will find that 600lb springs is stiff enough. Just my opinion.

Exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. Much appreciated.
