I found the info, which was likely generic to most joying head units.

Don't think I found where the UI setting is though.

I've been planning an audio build in my 08 Dbl cab and have been considering on of these joying units as the headunit. I'm wondering if anyone has used the optical output on them and what their thoughts were on the signal quality of that output?

Did you plug any Rca's? Also how did you wired the factory camera to the hu?

Soo the blue one is the sat/xm antenna, small white one is the mic and who knows what the 12 pin is, ive seen several threads asking what it was for & is not the hazard/clock because i already had it plugged in. My usb requires the brown adapter (ax-toyusb-2) that goes under the glove box. My oem hu doesnt use that fm style antenna.

idk if it was different for the 8" and 9" or between the years. My 2014 9" didn't require any of the wiring that you did. I believe that is for the aftermarket rear view cameras. My OEM backup cam only required the RCA cables to be connected to each other, and then whatever stock wire harness connectors

I figured it out. I ended up splicing into the harness ground and then into the reverse lights. I thought with the adapters I wouldn’t need to splice into the reverse lights.

You would need to de-pin atleast one of the black wires on the RCA adapter and add it to the Joying Harness in the reverse trigger socket. This would have allowed you to not have to spice into any of the factory wiring.

Ahhhh well shoot. We are committed now anyways. Does anyone have a part number for the two white clips on the bottom of the bezel? I lost one. I have plenty of the yellow ones but I can’t find the white ones.

    Whoo hoo!

My head unit arrived. Lots and lots of wires! Two or three antennas. My truck doesn't have GPS or a sharks fin so there a few plugs I won't use.

I don't think I'll have time to even look at installing this until maybe the weekend.

Maybe I'll go back and read this thread from the start to reorient myself around the install. WEE!!

Hello! Looking for help with my install. I have a android 10, 9 inch joying. I seem to have everything installed with the exception of the pictures attached. I have 3 connectors left from the stock harness, with nowhere to plug them in. The joying has some RCA connectors left and a fairly large connecter as well. So far, the only thing that doesn't work is the USB and AUX port. Any suggestions?

plug rca cables into back up joying unit for AUX connection. My 9" came with a USB connector. Idk why some don't. Did you have jbl before?? And i believe the Blue is for GPS or XM? Someone that knows better than I will chime in

Hi guys. Anyone know if any of these Joying units (got my eye on that 10.5") will work with the Anytime backup camera mod with rocker switch? I have a front and back camera that can come on whenever I please via the below physical button. (toggles include Top pressed in = Front camera, Middle = normal factory radio interface, then bottom pressed in = back camera). This has the ability to override the user interface as well as coming on when I reverse anyway. I'd assume if the joying unit accepts an adapter for the main Tacoma radio harness that it could work. But if possible I'd love keeping the physical rocker switch active rather than hunting through a tablet screen to access my front camera.

Someone else in this thread did do a switched camera setup with multiple cameras so your idea should work. It was either in this thread or the Tesla hu thread...

What odb dongle are people using? The one I ordered with the hu, I confirmed was causing error lights on my dash. And I haven't been able to connect my older Kiwi dongle that I've used for years, or my newer HP Tuners dongle.

Joying got back to me about my 2012 non JBL radio / non touch screen and told me to select the A option for the 9" which is what comes in the early 2nd gen trucks.

I think I'm just going to play it safe and get the 10" non button model and take my chances with the lack of buttons. But it seems like they also have the same A,B,C models for the other radios.... Fun, I love having a 2012.

Took me longer to get the dumb white clips off the old unit than it took me to install the unit!

I still need to go back in and set the clocks in sync, run the 3 antenna (GPS and the two flat antenna - If I use my Android phone, do I need those items?)

Lots to learn about this unit for sure. I did manage to get the Toyota logo for on startup. I'd LOVE to get a better launcher, the stock one is lame. oh, and no comments about my filthy garage. ;)

Huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. Because of this thread I had all the right cables on hand for the stock/factory USB connection and I knew how to install the unit right away. It was ridiculously pain free. Now I'm nervous that someone will break into the truck to take the unit. :(

If you use your phones hotspot or wifi, you dont need the gps nor the antennas.
