I have mine wired up so that my backup camera still uses the rear view mirror. I didn't mess with the backup camera that came with the radio, nor did I try to get the Joying to display the backup display from the OEM camera. In this BIG OLE thread several folks have accomplished using the OEM camera with the Joying units, the resolution seems to suffer a bit because of the difference in the joying display size vs that of the OEM camera.

I upgraded my speakers to Focal 6x9 separates in the front door and Sony ES 6" in the rear doors. EXCELLENT upgrade from stock. The stock speaker magnets are about as big around as a US quarter, and maybe about an inch thick. I lined both the front and rear doors with a sound deadener similar to Dynamat. Hard to quantify the improvement by adding the sound mat. Front 6x9 speakers were plug and play, I had to solder the tweeter wires directly to the new tweeters. Rear speakers used a different plug format so I soldered them as well. I used the OEM speaker frame as a spacer for the rear speakers (you basically destroy the OEM speaker to harvest just the plastic frame. Your speaker screws to the frame and the frame to the door. You also then modify the rear door panel to trim off the plastic trim ring on the back of the door panel. If you buy a speaker that's not as deep as the Sony ES then you may not need the adaptor ring (the old speaker frame) or the modification of the door panel. YMMV.

Using the passwords I was able to browse around looking for something. After a couple of failed attempts I selected the option to open radio on startup. Now instead of a 10 second boot up the radio pops up almost instantly. Thanks to all

I wanna know what the audio quality is. Maybe I've asked before but I didn't see an answer... For me, all the apps are secondary to what the actual sound quality isound quality is.

Better and louder than stock with stock speakers. Not going to win any completions but if you like or are ok with stock then it will be an upgrade IMHO.

Definitely better. Also make sure your apps like Spotify are set to High Quality Audio in settings

I currently have an aftermarket Pioneer and it sounds really good. Need dub grade my speakers to make it sound even better. Just wondering What the sound quality was like for people that actually enjoy music as opposed to people that just enjoy having lots of apps.. I'm sure my wife wouldn't care too awful much as long as she had a whole bunch of apps on her radio.. Then again she doesn't enjoy music as much. I mean she thinks the stuff that comes off her cell phone Speakers, And stock radios sound just fine....

I've had my unit installed for around 6 months now. I kept everything as OEM looking as possible. Used the Amazon adapter (de-pinned) so that I could maintain the factory backup camera. It gets 12V instead of 6V, but haven't had a problem yet. Added the Enfig microphone recently which is much better compared to what came with the radio. Clicked right in, and ran the wire behind the headliner and down the a-column. Radio isn't perfect, but it's inexpensive and a massive improvement over the factory radio. Having Android auto is great. I added a USB extender and another USB port to run it.

Did you order the mic with or without the 3.5 to 2.5mm convertor?

I ran the Alpine ILX-107 for a few years and recently switched to the Joying head unit, I wasn't expecting to be impressed with the audio quality but it actually surprised me with how much brighter the audio sounds even before adjusting the EQ. I definitely wouldn't consider myself an audiophile but it does bother me when music lacks a high streaming bit-rate, that's why I don't ever listen to satellite radio. The stock app on the Joying unit gives enough EQ band options to output music to my taste.

Also a side note if you want higher audio quality though the head unit I would use Apple Carplay or Android Auto only, both of them use Wi-Fi to stream the music. Bluetooth audio just isn't the same.

What about steaming music directly fron the hu app like Spotify over attached data sim? Would think it'd be better?

Morning y’all! So looking into getting one of these guys, mainly for the Wireless Apple CarPlay capability. I’m about to do a mild audio upgrade and would like to get a new radio to compliment the setup.

I really like the aesthetics of the no button 9 inch but it seems they no longer offer that one, is that correct?

    https://www.joyingauto.com/head-unit/u-z/toyota/tacoma.html

Otherwise I am between the buttonless 10.5 inch or the button 9 inch. Aside from the size and visual aspect, does one perform better than the other?

I’ll be installing on a 2013 Non-JBL. From what I’ve read, the only additional thing I’ll need is the USB adapter to have everything function as factory as possible.

Anything I am missing? Backup cam is in the mirror so not worried about integrating that right now. Want to add a front cam in the future but not a big priority right now either.

Personally I would get one with knobs but no buttons (think that's an option now). The buttons can't be programmed for anything but the stock head unit apps. So using android auto maps are not the same as using the google maps app on the head unit itself. Meaning you need a cellular data connection to the head unit itself. Android Auto wirelessly connected with my phone works fine with but if I press the map button on the head unit it goes to google maps with no cellular data (the head unit maps app itself). Kinda goofy.

Any non stock music player will not be programmable as a default with the button, at least in my experience so far.

Do these need a Y splitter for the RCAs to a subwoofer?
