First off I'm new here. Im about to get my grandads 96 tacoma. I'm really wanting to put some newer bigger mirrors on it with turn signals in em like some of the 2nd gens have. I know i can wire em, that's not a problem. I'm just curious if they will bolt up or have to trim and if anyone has done this on a 1st gen. Pics would be great if you have. And yes i have searched and couldn't find what i was lookin for. Thanks.

The '01-'04 model years had much larger mirrors. Those will bolt right up no problem. I did the swap on my truck. As for turn signals they sell aftermarket ones you stick on the backside and wire to your signals. Pretty easy.

I have thought about the 01-04 but none have signals. I don't want the stick on/screw on type signals. I really want the ones off a 12 that has the signals made into em.

I've always wanted Ford F250 Superduty towing mirrors on my truck. Has the turn signals and everything. Thing is you'd need to fab a bracket.

the standard mirrors were smaller, the power mirrors were larger. 01-04 had standard mirrors if you had no power options. my grandfather's 03 was this way, stock 4cyl auto, no power options.

@Cowboycq you'll have to cut and mod a mirror to make it fit. even the 4Runner mirrors were the same.

GL and keep us posted on the results

I think early dodge rams like a 1500 and 2500 had tow mirrors that bolt up little to no modification.

I wish it was like that around here. Ive been to several junk yards for parts. Everyone told me $50 a part unless its something like screws
