The window sticker for my '09 DCSB SR5 TRD-Sport lists the tow package as a separate ($650) option...

You need to be clear when asking people if they have a tow package that its stock. THE ANSWER TO: Do you have a tow package? IS NO IF IT WAS NOT STOCK.

Virtually no one will instal an aftermarket package that would be equivilent or better than stock. Its very expensive to do it.

The previous owner likely put a hitch receiver on the truck and calls that a tow package.

I'll admit to learning something new today, too. I was under the impression that TRD (Offroad at least) all got tow packages.

In practicality they probably did as "Toyota builds vehicles to meet the majority of buyer's wants and needs" (their words from the eBrochure). So if most buyers want it, what better way to make some extra $$ than not include it in the hot packages, but instead offer it as a stand-alone addon--and build most if not all non-special order trucks with it?

Without the tow package its practically an SR5+ haha. I wonder what the cost difference was between a fully loaded SR5 and an OR w/out the Tow Package.

The SR5 and the OR are considerably different, look in the eBrochure. The tow package was optional on both...

No need to run your Vin to tell if it was an off-road. If you have a locker button to the left of the steering wheel and an ATRAC button under the HVAC you have a TRD OR

Story and carfax say it was from haiwaii. Original owner sprayed the frame and then shipped it to Cali and this dude bought it.

I see some rust, but its mostly on the spring. Anything you guys see that I should be concerned about?

Yeah, but I just want to be sure. With the going prices of these trucks I could see why someone might be incentivized to add a few things. The carfax being vague and inconsistent doesnt help.

We'll do you have a locker ATRAC buttons in the cab?

Adding Ng ATRAC to a non-off-road is not something I've ever seen.

It does. I am just being paranoid by wanting to be extra sure.

Could you give me feedback on the pictures of the frame I posted?

Looks clear of rust to me in those pics but I'm on a phone. Do you see rust that concerns you?

Nobody's going to add the elocker and atrac and the invertor and the sport seats and yellow bilstien shocks, and TRD stickers, just to sell it for more money.
