2nd Gen parts on 3rd Gens

HI all,

I have an 08 thats getting up there in the mileage department. I still have a bunch of things I want to buy (bed cage, rtt, HC rear, etc etc) but I don't want to spend all the money for stuff I will maybe only use for a few years.

So here is my question: Does anyone know yet what parts if any, will work from my 2nd Gen to a new 3rd Gen?
Are the bumper mounting systems that different?

How in the hell would anyone know anything they aren't even out yet..........

 

Maybe on Aug 17 you will be able to tell. They are releasing the specs that date.

 

Aw crap sorry guys I thought the specs were out yet my bad. Least it's only a couple days till August 17th lol

 

I believe the seatbelt buckles have been confirmed to be compatible.

 

Gearing up for a 3rd gen. swap, I see. Converting to 2012+ 2nd Gen is so 2014.

 

Just make shit up and argue about it, isn't' that what this entire sub-forum is based on?

 

I think the drum brakes are transferable.

 

The cab is definitely not interchangeable. The new cab is much larger.

 

lol nope, once is enough for me. I like my grill to be less than half the truck.
