Naw man, the videos are already there. Just google Sprint Booster Demonstration, then down to videos, I guess I just thought we'd all seen them. They have one unhooked, then hooked to a throttle body & operating showing sluggish in "Off" mode, then better in "Street" mode, then instantly snaps open & shut in "Race" mode. Shows plainly the difference in the speed the throttle plate opens & closes. I wish the demos weren't from a Co. that's trying to sell them, as they will try to stretch things a little. Hope it helps.

While it might work on other vehicles, like stated, it simply wont on ours. I have figured out to grab two video streams from two different sources and will record throttle pedal input and throttle body response in realtime to put this shit to bed.

Dang man, I understand you may not find someone to let you try theirs out, but it's obvious you're not even willing to look at the free videos?

I’ve had one for about 2 years. I don’t even turn it on unless I’m off-road, then I use the eco mode. It’s very useful bumping over rocks and rough terrain. Makes for a more smooth ride rather than every bump you hit your food mashes down on the accelerator and jars you back and forth

All I can tell you that in yet another thread, you are dead wrong.

If you do make that movie then please make the same video with the Sprint Booster, installed and activated. Your video, by itself, will show us nothing.

But if a video of a fully stock setup shows literally no lag, how would a spirit booster / pedal commander help? (other than simulate one pushing down on the pedal more than you actually are)?

Because the videos are not of our actually throttle body / throttle pedal setup. I have watched them.

This is about the one situation i could see it being very helpful when you want to dull the pedal input to make things smoother when needing to go slow.

I just went thru this entire thread, that was started back in May, 2018. I counted the responses from folks who had actually tried these things. There are 11 Pos. 2 Neg., & 1 (white lightning boosted in post 17) who said he was still on the fence. That's appx 80% pos., If I'd counted them the day before yesterday, it would have been 100% pos. The last 2 posters that chimed in yesterday & today were the only 2 neg. votes. There will never be anything that everybody likes. I bought mine that came with a guarantee, if you don't like it for any reason, send it back for a full refund. I hope the 2 neg. guys found the same deal, at least they didn't lose anything. Good luck to everyone & enjoy your Tacos.

Another vote for the Pedal Commander. Horsepower and tuning isn’t everything. For example, on my 65 Chevelle I regeared the differential gear to increase acceleration and make the car accelerate quicker. Also, I changed the carb throttle spring to a lighter spring to make the pedal feel more responsive and accelerate quicker. Much like what the Pedal Commander does. Each of these mods do not increase any horsepower.

Of all the researching, & that's a lot, I've seen nothing neg. It seems all the power that is put on the complete drive train is the exact same, only gets there quicker. The pos. responses just keep growing, I'm taking your comment as pos.

Glad to see this thread still going. I've watched 5 or 6 of these videos, the one from "Bros. Fourr Speed", was by far the most informative & realistic I've seen. Like they all said, no more HP, just a more peppy & responsive, got rid of the sluggishness of the OEM electronic throttle. I understand the first guy thinking the $300 for a pedal commander may be more than it was worth, $300 is a lot to most of us. That being said my Sprint Booster cost appx. the same but made driving my little 2.7 4cyl, auto, 4X4 so much more comfortable, I'd gladly spend it again. It has made my 2013 Taco feel as responsive as my old "98" Taco did. Thanks to Aroy608 for sharing these videos.

When I tuned my DBW Subies, one thing I always did was a custom map for the throttle pedal to throttle position (torque requested) mapping. Made it smoother, consistent, and predictable.

The second thing I did was lean out the AFR's, within reason.

I was hoping to be able to just grab a cable and free software off the internets and do the same thing with my Taco, but... I haven't found a 'free software' solution for that yet. I've considered the Pedal Commander, but I'm unsure... Then again, I have a 4.0 with a 6MT, so any benefit of programming with shiftpoints is wasted money for me, since I am my shift points. However, if it just leans out the dang truck under full throttle, it would be worth it for me to spend money on this... 9.5:1 is a limp mode AFR I'd use on a turbo Subaru, not a NA V6. What a waste of fuel.

I followed the install instructions to the letter.
I agree with all that you said. My experience with the Sprint Booster is the same.

I don't have a 2nd gen but I thought I'd throw in my two cents.
From 1983 to 2010 all I drove were manual Honda Civics, then in 2010 I bought a 2008 4Runner AT. After it I purchased a 2011 Tacoma AT, then a 2018 Tundra AT. Now I never noticed any problems with any throttle lag until a few weeks ago when I bought a 2021 Tacoma 6spd MT. It was so bad that I seriously considered selling it after a few days. Because of that I thought I'd try a Peddle Commander and I'm really happy I did. Now my Tacoma feels, accelerates and drives like I remember how a manual should. Fun ! The difference was so night and day I couldn't believe it.
I know it doesn't add anymore hp but it feels like it does. Some people say it's just like pushing the pedal to the floor but I say bs. No matter how hard I pushed the pedal down it still wouldn't react or accelerate as quickly. Toyota puts a lag in there for fuel economy that when trying to push the pedal more or faster, still doesn't compare to the Peddle Commander or I'm sure Sprint Booster too.
Anyways, hope that helps a few people.

I am Sprint Booster user, I agree completely. I have used mine for a long time, no problems.

Hey sarra, just say'in, in fear of sounding like a sales person for Sprint Booster, They have a 30 day unconditional, for any reason, full money back guarantee. I was unsure also, but this warranty made it pretty easy for me.... Couldn't find a reason not to try it. I'm not sure about the others, but the Sprint Booster has a switch to change from MT to auto., I don't have a clue what it does, just know it's there. If you decide to give one a try, please get back to us with feedback, either way, neg. or pos., very interesting thread & the more info. the better. Good luck.
