Right on, and it's the same for me, I know that mashing the pedal has the same outcome as a throttle controller, but the scaling makes it easier to just scoot along without feeling like you need to be banging through gears while you're doing it. It's more of a roll-into-the-throttle and have instant response vs having to floor it everywhere. It takes a little getting used to, but same here- for the $40 on sale I bought it for, well worth it.

Well, we can't expect anything to suit everybody, that's kind'f normal. Interesting though, appx 98% of the folks "that have tried them" like them, that should say a lot. I'm sure glad I made my decision to get one based on what that 98% of the folks "that have used them" thought rather than on the opinions of the ones who have never used them and said they don't work. Hoping everyone who wants one gets one, and the ones that don't want to even try one, to feel the difference, ever hears of them again...

Just to pop in here and give a touch more of an update on my cheap-o throttle controller now that I've got some more miles/time behind it:

Still happy considering it was less than $40. Big hill not far from my house I used to hit 4th gear on because of that dip in the throttle input. I'm still not use to that slow, unresponsive area and it'd catch me off guard, I'd shift from 5th to 4th in my 6MT Tacoma. Since installing this thing I can very easily cruise up this hill in 5th gear at about 2100rpm and not have to worry about dropping down under 2k rpm because I don't react to the delay in response. The truck just moves better.

*this is not a replacement for a tune, and that is still my ultimate goal.*

shaeff, sounds like it's doing exactly what it is advertised to do, it's not supposed to be the same as a tune... Hping the tune comes soon.

Precisely. It's just a temporary mod for me.
