Got the frame stiffeners and backing plates up with the lower links just trying to get my upper link set right.
Got my crawl box put together and tcase installed. Not surpised trail gear shorted me some bolts

This is like the cooler bigger but smaller version of the truck I just got. Mine’s on a D44 front and leaf springs. Excited to see your progress on this!

I mean tons are strong enough you'd have to be doing something pretty wild to break them with these 4 cylinders so you should be good on that aspect atleast.

Don't weld your upper link mount in until you flip that bolt... :)

Ha ha i was waiting for someone to catch that. Yeah it was there to hold while i tacked it and did a bunch of measuring. I actually flipped it to the passenger side.
Im at a crossroad right now cause the lowers either need to go farther down or the axle needs to move farther forward. Kindve a bastard

The roll axis angle is at a +5°which causes oversteer

Im trying to keep the stock drivelines except with a cardigan joint and lengthened. You be surprised what can happen when you wedge a tire in low low and give it the berries what can happen.

With 1t, all you're doing is moving the breaking point elsewhere. In this cause, the tcase is the next moving part to go boom.

Yep. But I still think the ujoint is stronger than the chain case with all the smaller moving parts.

But I agree, I prefer a broken joint vs a broken tcase. I don't know of anyone who carry complete tcase with them on the trail. Heck, I rather break an axle shaft or ring and pinion instead.

Are you going to stay with the stock chain driven case or switch to gear driven case(s)? My truck has dual gear driven but if I am being honest it’s kind of annoying, no where to hold my beer now lol

Look like OP is running gear crawlbox with stock chain...

Are you running the inchworm or verso?

I would agree with an axle shaft but not a ring and pinion. The tcase is an fj cruiser cause they have a manual shift where the stock tacoma uses an electronic shift. I never wheel alone. The tcases are cheaper then doing a ring and pinion.
The tcase is chain the crawl box is gear box.
Ha ha yeah did they use a chevy dana 44 pass drop?
Fj chain drive with a toyota gear for crawl box
    With trail gear adapter

I believe it’s an inchworm setup (#boughtnotbuild problems) it has I believe a trailgear adapter to 2 older style toyota cases.

Yea truck has a ‘77 Chevy K5 d44. Not gonna pretend I built this truck haha I bought it already “put” together. Using that term loosely since most of the bolts are loose and a lot of welds incomplete. Once I get the motor back in I am gonna see about linking it instead of leafs. With how long it’s taking to get coilovers I may just wait lol.

Yeah you could switch to a ford hp44 but the chevy is pretty good axle i hqve a bunch of parts for that one if ur interested.
The back log that king and oris have is unbelievable, maybe its the 1st world problems but i dont know how they havent figured it out. Thats why i went with oris, less back time way easier to tune and manipulate. Set ride height in minutes with little effort and no need for sway bars or bump stops

I may be interested in some parts if you wanna pm what you got?
My buddy had a yj on Oris and it was awesome. I am not really sure what the issues are, I suspect maybe lack of material to keep up with demand. Either that or just with so many people doing stuff the order list went insane. Another company with lead times not as crazy is Carbon Shock Technologies. I follow them on IG, they are working like 7 days a week with a small crew of people to try and keep up.

Had to change it up due to orders from the old lady. Had to make her jeep presentable.
