2nd Gen Speaker Upgrade Advice

    Howdy ladies and gents!
    So to start off, I’ve got an 05 Standard Cab Tacoma with manual everything! You heard me right, it’s the SR5 Prerunner model if that means anything to help you folks better understand what I’m workin’ with.

    Right now I’ve got a Kenwood DMX706S for the head unit and a
    $70 Rockford R165-S Prime 6.5” 2-Way Component Speaker System
    Rockford R165-S component set up in the truck. Very disappointed in the volume and bass with the current set up. Hell even the stock speaker I had produced way more volume and bass than the aftermarket!

    Which brings us here ladies and gents, what speaker out there, coaxial or components will give me that loud volume and thumping bass I’m itchin’ for?

    On a side note, I went ahead and got a Kicker Hideaway
    $270 11HS8 Kicker Hideaway Powered Enclosure HS8 - Used Acceptable
    11HS8 just in case more speakers decides to disappoint me. If anyone has any idea how to hook this bad boy up to a Kenwood DMX706S, please help a brother out.

    I just had an amp and Focal speakers installed about a month age. What a difference. Deep bass and clear mid/highs. Kept my factory head unit.
