If you are like me that hates the oem steering wheel and wants a sporty steering wheel but you don’t like how the aftermarket “racing” steering wheels looks on the truck this is your best option.

i bought a 2012 Rav4 oem steering wheel and a flat bottom insert and made 1 out of the 2.

The air bag, radio buttons and cruise control connections are exactly the same, so is just plug and play.FD434DFF-8AB2-42CD-B93F-C2C972116677.jpg0EDA8CB9-4CE2-4E76-A468-9616815F0326.jpg 14D51866-0457-4A09-8CAD-EA235096511E.jpg

Good to know. I bought a piano black/leather steering wheel for my 2006 a couple years ago that I really like. But good to know their are other plug and play options. Im not willing to give up my steering wheel controls or cruise control (not to mention having an air bag light on the dash) to have some fancy aftermarket wheel.

that looks good. My leather steering wheel went to hell at the end of 2022, tried to do the stitch on cover from east detailing and failed twice. I looked around an no company makes an steering wheel like the one above for the second gen tacoma, there are some with piano wood but none in leather, no idea why. I found some for the newer 2nd gen, but once you start buying all the inserts it turns expensive.

I found another great option for swapping over. Had a stock Scion iQ steering wheel that I was going to use on my xB project but decided I was sick of hitting my hand on my leg every time I made hard turns and instead put it on my base Tacoma. Pretty sure it's the same steering wheel in the 2nd gen Scion tC as well. Since I got it with the airbag all I had to do was plug everything in. Can't attest if the steering wheel controls or cruise control would work or not as I don't have them. I'd guess I could make them work if I swapped out the clockspring though.

@Pellot03 looking to do the same in my 09. Curious if the buttons still illuminate at night with the headlights on? If so what color are they?

This is from a 2016 Corolla. Changed the surround to a carbon fiber flat bottom wheel.

All the buttons work and light up. It went into a 2015 tacoma and was plug and play.
