Are you going to put any sound deading? Wondering if those modules will rattle against the back wall behind that sub.

Some years those fuel pumps have been recalled. I’d look into oem replacement or aftermarket kit.

If I have any left over from the doors which I bought in excess, it'll go on there. The sub box profile clears the modules so we'll see if anything rattles.

Good point, I'll check if there any recalls before buying aftermarket.

Good question. I asked the same one long ago but it was also at a time when I had NO IDEA of the extent of wiring @dpanibratets would be doing.

I brought it up because when my 2014 Tacoma was rear-ended and my truck was basically rebuilt on a new frame with a new bed, I selected the repair shop based on their willingness to let me line the entire cab with Dynamat. I lined everything including behind the headliner. The overall improvement was, I would say huge, but others who have done the same work to their Tacoma seem to think otherwise. To be politically correct, I'll just say the improvement was significant.

My point though, is when I asked the first time, I unintentionally marginalized the wiring maze I would have been creating for myself if I were willing to take on a project of this magnitude. As I think about now, as incredible as the performance mods will be, the approach and ease at which you have moved the project forward from an electromechanical view is what I RESPECT most. Thinking about it now, I probably wouldn't have insulated anything until I troubleshot everything. The insulation, to me, would just be another obstacle to overcome. Another stellar example of experience and your planning!

The volume of OEM system wiring you have modified and the new-to-you Lexus functional systems you have added to your Tacoma is, to me, mindboggling if not INCREDIBLE. Aside from maybe visual and continuity, any other pre-operation electrical testing?

Thanks again for your support! Well there will be several systems like vehicle stability control that will need to be calibrated right out of the gate. I have decent OB2 scan tool that can read live data and special functions. I will hook it up and see what problems I have once I fire it up. We'll go from there...

I could check the VIN of the GX and see if the recall was done.

Well boys I was busy last weekend. I assembled everything, took apart her drums, hooked new parking brake cables and mounted the cables. Can't wait to dial this setup in.

Beautiful work and Great looking setup. If it rides as good as it looks you are going to have a winner...

Only if I have issues with the Lexus brake booster actuating drum brakes. The drums work pretty good in my opinion.

The Lexus booster is an electronic booster no? I believe it would be proportioned to actuate the factory discs on all 4 corners. I’d imagine they’re going to work TOO good and lock them up with the current proportioning valve.

discs aren’t a horrible idea. You have them from the GX don’t you?

I wonder if anyone from Toyota corporate monitors this site. Would be cool to have Toyota engineers check this thing out once it’s complete.

    Nice build.

Yeah I mean come on Toyota, the 4runner got a V8 at one point. All we ask is for your to put the Tundra drivetrain into a Tacoma. Tacoma with 400 hp is pretty attainable these days.

Aimed at the company that doesn’t even offer a V8 Tundra anymore

And you have a weird number in the top right corner of your post?

Shoot I would even settle for the 3.44 liter v6 with turbos out of the tundra.

Lol I was posting the Total Chaos 86460 kit is the shock tower kit I used from my clip board on Facebook and some how it pasted it 3 times here.

Well I installed the stud mount zip ties from japan and man they are nice! The snapped on to the stud nicely. The only thing is that they are not as wide as the lexus ones but still feel very solid.
