I don’t know. They’ve been black listed for several years. They were pretty active when I joined the forum over 10 years ago.

Right side harness is all hooked up and I taped off the rear hvac controls. I will also remove fuses and relays associated with rear hvac. I also found the power to the rear view camera and separated it from the main harness to have it ready for tailgate wiring. I decided to use aftermarket 12v camera because the tacoma sends 6v of power to the camera when in reverse. The lexus sends 6v when you turn on accessories and on another wire 12v when you are in reverse. I know I could make it work with a relay but I don't want to deal with it. Plus I already prewired a yellow RCA on the left side. Also I found the tacoma license plate light harness and wired in to the lexus license plate light wire. I got to wrap up some wires by the rear passenger door and the we move on to the ENGINE BAY!

Cancelled out both knee airbags second row seat airbags and 2nd row seat belt pretensioners using resistors. The gx460 has a 5th airbag sensor under the 2nd row bench closer to the right side. I found the perfect spot for it where the under seat storage won't touch it. It is oriented like this in the gx. I also worked on running more amp/stereo wiring. I need one more RCA cable and the amp will be pretty much all wired up.

Working on getting the headlights wired up right now. I decided to throw in the gx radiator just to see how it fits. If fits perfectly and bolts right in! And yes I will be getting a new one because the top hose fitting is cracked. This is just for mock up purposes to put the engine in the right spot.

Is the GX radiator actually bigger than the Tacoma's?

By the looks of it it looks taller. I will measure when I get a chance. My biggest concern is the transmission fluid lines that good up to it.

You can always use an aftermarket trans cooler. If you do any towing you’ll find the stock set up lacking. Some YouTube guys show what’s worked for them on the GX.

    but then again, moar $$$$

I don't really plan on doing much towing and since I have to buy a radiator I figured buying a CSF heavy duty radiator would be a good choice. If I need the additional cooling later on I will do a standalone atf cooler but for now I'll see how the CSF will handle it.

The GX radiator should be about 4" taller and about 1/8" thicker I believe.

You probably know but CSF sure seems to makes very high end prodocuts.

My limited experience with them is the quality, workmanship, and performance of a set of reinforced intercooler bricks they co-developed with DMS for a Supercharged LS9 Chevy. The product has been outstanding. I needed something that would withstand the increased boost pressure and thermal load of aftermarket pulleys for a Supercharged LS9 engine. The manufactured end-product also clearly looks like it came out of a CSF shop.

My interest is if you buy a CSF radiator, will you go with the one they sell for a Tacoma or the GX? From your response, is seems that although the GX radiator "bolts right in", the location of the "transmission fluid lines" may not be as straight forward. Is that correct?

After seeing what you've accomplished, You're the Man! Thank in advance!

Yes I heard good things about CSF also.
Well I have the oem transmission lines from the GX so I figured I'd just use them along with a gx radiator. The oem lines run from the right side of the bellhousing/transmission right past the engine oil pan, cross under the radiator ran and hook up to the left side of the radiator. So far, because the width of the frame rails is virtually the same, every has been fairly straightforward. I am so happy that the Gx radiator bolted in, I thought for sure I would have to modify the core support but turns out I don't.

Headlights are wired up, more or less. I am going to attempt to weld the engine mounts in on monday!

Welded in some bolts to hold the heater core lines. Had to get that out of the way before the engine goes in. And then I noticed that both ac lines will need to be modified because the ID is different on both tubes.

Also it is interesting how they use 3UR heads on 1UR. I wonder if the 2UR also has 3UR heads.

the only thing that's different between the 1ur, 2ur, and 3ur is the Stroke. the bore is the same between the 3 engines. so using the same head castings on all 3 would make sense especially to cut costs
