Hear, hear! Like I said in an earlier post, this thread is what made me unlurk. TacomaWorld really is unlike most other forums because of threads and posters like D. Glad that I didn't miss the end of this endeavor, and can witness it real time. Cheers!

Well I certainly appreciate the words of encouragement. I have been busy on the project certainly. I got the transmission crossmember welded in last weekend.

I got the starter installed and connected. I literally just got done installing the right side exhaust manifold and put the shields on. Currently I have to finish installing the exhaust, button up the top of the engine and give her some juice! I hope it will recognize the wireless key.

Have you mounted the ECU yet? And repinned the body side plugs for it?

Yes I have mounted the ecu. And no repinning required because I just rewired the whole body with lexus wires.

God that makes me happy I went with such an antiquated motor for my swap. So many wires and sensors everywhere. It’ll be worth it in the end for you. You have a lot more patience than I do.

Two weeks ago my wife and I said goodbye to our gx470. Last week we picked up this sequoia. I really love driving this rig.

No I had to modify the gx460 ecu brackets but basically I put it in the same spot so all the wires line up nicely.

2015 Limited, 5.7 3UR, 68k miles, clean title. I am going to do all the service on it including entire transmission fluid change and will be upgrading to 2018+ front lights and pro grille. I picked up forged trd wheels wheels made by bbs for $1300 on marketplace which was a great deal.

Just do what I did and start your new engine before youre really ready to and ignore a bunch of problems that'll come to bite you in the ass later.

I put it on pause until I get the engine running. The ac amp needs two square pulse type signals to make the AC work. 1st is RPM and luckily the gx ECU has that same signal going to it so I need to tap into it. 2nd is a coolant temp pulse. The problem with that one is that the Lexus outputs a different type of signal for that. I am likely going to imitate normal operating temp signal using an Arduino module. I don't really know how it works but I'll figure it out with the help of the guys on here. Aside from those two signals, everything else should just be a matter of hooking up the correct wires to the ac amp.

seems pretty straight forward. Worse comes to worst, you could always just have a manual AC button the switch pros. From my knowledge, everything else on your AC amplifier still works fine, only thing that doesn’t is activation of the AC clutch. Atleast, mine seems to be working fine.

    Hey guys,

As you can see here the AC condenser bolts right in also but it appears that it is about 1 inch too high. The ac line will not hook up to it. The name of the game is saving money anyway I can and I can modify the tabs to lower the condenser with my welder rather than make new lines. I'll be doing that today. Also I could've done myself a favor by moving the engine back about 1/2 inch because of the CSF radiator. Now in order to mount the fan, the serpentine belt has to go on, the fan goes on with shroud and then the radiator goes in. Otherwise there's not enough room to get the fan flange over the studs. An oversight on my part but there's a workaround.

If your AC line doesn’t work out, custom ones aren’t all that expensive. 50-75$ maybe. That’s what I’ve been quoted to make mine.
