Rockauto says the radiator will be delivered on Tuesday. It's going right in asap. Also whats crazy about the transmission ATF fill procedure is that it can take up to 16 quarts depending on what you worked on. So far I've only filled 2.5 gallons and the fluid is coming out of the fill hole. The book says to turn on the engine some that pumps it the fluid into the torque converter and valve body, then fill specified amount.

Gotcha, from your pics it looks like it already was installed. Do you have a scan tool capable of reading transmission temp? Those lexus trans have to have the level set at a certain temp. Maybe that trans doesn't work that way necessarily, but Ill check.

Yes you are correct. Yeah I have an Xtool that can pull live data. Apparently there is also a procedure to shift between drive and neutral 6 times rapidly to get the ATF fluid temp to light up once you are in the 115 to 126 degree range. I'll just do it with my scan tool.

Yeah supposedly the go to method is 5 Mississippi's between each gear, PRND. In AZ its hard to get this done unless the shop is climate controlled like ours, because the temp is always right in range, and the second you start the truck it heats the fluid beyond range super quickly.

I cant recall what trans are you using but I know a lot of Toyota stuff had a TSB issued for a revised fluid level temp range. They lowered the temp, so technically stuff was being underfilled by some amount using the original temp values.

2nd gens with the A750E or F would be under T-SB-0129-08

    Yeah.
That sounds about right, it's got to get stuff pumped through everything while running. Getting 10 quarts in there sounds like a great start. Likely some will spill out before all the nooks and crannies are filled, so best to have more than you need on hand just in case. I think it took 14.5 quarts to do a full change on my 2012 (capacity is somewhere around 11.5 if I recall).

OP, which CSF radiator did you buy that didn’t work for you? Wondering if it also fits the 4.7L for the T4R

Put the radiator in, put coolant in, put gas in and push the button.
