I reached out to them and they said they aren't accepting any new paint work.

If you having everything working at this point with very little issues. I don’t see why you couldn’t! Do it!

No but that reminds me that I need to order some new bed bolts. Also I verified that my license plate lights are working . If the bolts come by this weekend I will put the bed on.

Today I was trying to wire up a maestro SW module to gain steering wheel controls to my Pioneer deck. I wired up the SW1, SW2 and SWG to the corresponding wires on the maestro. It didn't work. I immediately thought I installed something incorrectly, hours later of trouble shooting I realized that my clock spring spiral cable was torn lol. I found that out by checking continuity on it. I got on car-part and found out that these are cross compatible from a 2016 scion TC. I am definitely not paying 500 for a new lexus one. I will order one up on monday.

So what are you planning to add, if anything? (Steps, snorkel, light bar, ditch lights)

Where is this project headed after getting the body back together and painting it that gorgeous caviar color?

Yeah I'd like to put a prinsu rack on it with a 40 inch light bar. I also planned on putting a winch mount that installs onto the frame rails and retains the factory bumper cover. And a nice skid plate. Nothing too crazy, I actually really need to get the STI fixed this winter.

Read through the whole thread today and amazing job OP! Out of curiosity, why’d you choose the 1UR-FE over the 2UR-FE or 3UR-FE? Would the 2UR-FE be a similar swap into a gen 2.5 Tacoma and a 3UR-FE like a gen 3 Tacoma? As the engines and vehicle features evolved, I imagine someone would want to do a swap based on a similar generation donor and recipient vehicle. Amazing how many of the parts ended up actually matching up. I think my biggest lesson learned is that one would really need a whole donor vehicle, and not just the drivetrain.
