He's either out there still doing smoky awd burnouts, or enjoying towing that new boat with midsize V8 power.

    Hey Guys,

Sorry for no updates in a long time. I was assigned to a temporary senior manager position at work and had very little time to work on the projects. However, now I am back in to my old job so we are back to working on projects. The current status of the tacoma is I am still needing to test the AC. I am waiting on a plastic clamp for the AC line. This clamp is back ordered so I filled out another corporate complaint. They I ordered this thing in march. They are working it now, they say eta is end of july but we'll see. In the meantime I have been working on my Toybota. This is an Toyota Marine Epic 22 powered by a 1uz VVT-i. It had a broken rod, I am almost ready to install this engine. I wish I had more to update but this is life and thats how it goes sometimes.

    Hey Guys,

I am back. I got the Boat project completed and winterized. I also wrapped up my STI project. What a summer it has been! That being said, I have definitely over extended myself by taking on 3 projects at once. 2 out of 3 done so now I can focus on the Tacoma 100%.

The current status of the Tacoma is that it cranks but doesn't start. It doesn't have fuel pressure and it was blowing the 10 amp fuel pump fuse. I installed an AEM 320 fuel pump when I had the tank out. I disconnected the fuel pump ECU and connected jumper wires directly to the black and white wire momentarily. It tried to make a sound but didn't pump any fuel. I hooked up the wires backwards to get the pump to move in reverse and it seemed to spin. Based on this testing I think my fuel pump ECU is fine but I am worried that the pump has an issue. Basically it was just parked for like 9 months, I don't understand why it would have an issue.

Lastly, since I last posted, I have secured the AC lines to the firewall using the OEM clamps. I was going to test the AC system but the truck decided not to start.

Anyway it is good to be back and lets bring this project home.

Nice, I almost bought a similar boat this summer, just the Lexus version. But decided to go with V-drive instead for that bigger surf wake. Bet yours is more fun to drive though :)

After spinning the fuel pump backwards, I connected the fuel pump ecu and it fired right up. I ran it up to temp today, it sounds so good and I can't wait to drive this thing on the road. As you can see there are several headlight caution lamps that need to be dealt with. If any of you have any ideas on how to do that please let me know.

What gauge are you using? I was searching for a while for something to replace the gauge in my GX470

My project included stripping the tacoma down to the sheet metal, rewiring it with the GX460 wiring and installing the gx460 drivetrain. And then I plugged in the gx460 gauge cluster. Unless you want to do that, I'd suggest you stick the with gx470 oem cluster.

Ah, GX460 drivetrain. I was missing that part. Totally glossed over the 4.6L part of the title lol
