Well, since you asked about whether 4.0 has timing belt or chain, you can actually see the timing chain links. I read it on another and was surprised myself that it was so obvious to confirm this, I'd never though to do this.. :notsure:

Hey 2nd gen guys out there. I need some expertise in helping me make sure I buy the right wheels. Will these measurements fit my 285/70’s (not taking into consideration the CMC and probable UCA upgrade)

Great video man the only thing that had me wondering was the bolt for the ball joint, I put Camburg uca’s and it came with the castle nut and cotter pin. There was a second set lock nuts like the ones you put on, is this a new thing I have not seen this set up before.

    I have a 2013 Double Cab 4.0L auto.
There is no problem areas on these trucks afaik.
The only "funky" thing you'll see is that the backup camera is in the rear view mirror. There are ways to make it appear in the radio screen, but the guidance lines don't go to the screen (they're part of the camera). I find the screen a little small (in the rear view mirror) but usable. It's really the only issue I have with my truck. Otherwise I absolutely love it.

I'm not familiar with the 2.7L, so I don't know if it has the slightly annoying emission equipment on it that I have. When I turn off the truck it makes a loudish whine. You get used to it pretty fast

    good luck with the purchase

Only thing on the 2.7 is make sure you do the secondary air pump filter mod and replace it with a Unifilter or likewise to ensure you don't get the foam down the intake thing. You should be good still for now but you can pull the filter off and make sure the foam isn't falling apart if you wanna be sure. I can't ifnd the original thread right now but here's one of the other ones talking about it and Tacomaholic has a video on his YouTube of how to do it if you need that: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/uni-filter-mod-on-2-7.489348/

Was wondering if anyone has tried this on a 2nd GEN Taco or is it even possible... replacing existing exterior side mirrors with 3rd GEN Taco side mirrors (reason: 3rd GEN exterior side mirrors come with the following extra features heated, power folding, blind spot function and can easily add puddle pods).

I also find the backup camera in the mirror a bit small, and even thought about getting the harness from Camera Source but decided not to. I think it makes our 2013 Tacoma super unique.

Its at its worst when its dark out, raining, and you have window tint. I have had the conversion kit in my cart, on eBay, for over a year now. LoL

Definitely. I switched to Auxito reverse light leds because the image was so dim in poor light/weather. Made all the difference. The camera still isn't high def but that's not needed, just adequate viewing. I'm glad I have the '14 with the image on the HU though.
