2nd Gen Ultimate LED Dome and Map lights

I just placed an order for the white dome! Super pumped! But I am hoping for the dual maps as well... Dunno if I'll be able to get them put in the same box or not if they are coming back into stock soon!

My wife and I just had our 1 year anniversary with our business here in BC, so it's been really cool to watch your personal hobby turn into a full time job!!! Dual dome will not be happening. But I do have a SUPER dome in development.
It's going to be like the ultimate on steroids. It will have white, red, and any color in between.
I update the 3rd gen section, but forget to post here sometimes.
Basically the white output will be in a halo form, using dedicated white LEDS around the perimeter. Like this


It will have dim-able modes as well.

For anyone with the ultimate dome..you know how bright it is. This is TWICE the output.

Then on the inside of the halo it will have all the color RBG LEDS. This thing is going to be packed, and legit

Compared to any other dome light out there, it still is the Ultimate.
It will not be discontinued.
It’s the best “bang for your buck” IMO. Single color, single brightness, and drops right in. Basic.
The super dome will take it to the next level, but so will the price. With 2 tactile buttons(programmable BTW) on the front to quickly change brightness, color, etc.
Add a micro computer and Bluetooth on board for full control and programming from your phone. Super maps will follow.

 

Sounds impressive! I'm not doubting it's awesomeness. Just semantics. I'm definitely excited about it! II' done with the chintzy led bulb "upgrades" that die super quick.

 

Do these dome lights dim out with the doors like the OEM light?

 

Maybe you should just make a thread with all your products and gens included. That way you don't need to worry about putting information into different threads

Awesome because I have my rock/puddle lights tied to that ground to have them dim with the dome light.

 

That gives me a lot of ideas ......

Thanks for the fast shipping, I received the light today. It's very simple to install and super bright.
I do run into an unusual "glowing" of a handful of LEDs after the light went off, they stay lit and don't seems to go off thereafter. Any advice?

 

This is on a 2nd gen correct? There have been stories of this same thing happening(with other LED bulbs) but its is not common at all. It looks like the truck dome circuit does not see enough resistance, and somehow still powers the light(just barely). It was solved by putting a resistor in the dome light (100OHM 1W) as seen here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/interior-l-e-d-dome-lights-gets-dim-when-truck-is-off.514835/
I'm happy to send you another set of LED boards, but it might be something on the truck side.

Thanks for the quick response Sir. Yes, this is for the Gen 2 Tacoma, I will try to follow the advise of the link above to add a 100 ohm, 1W resistor to it, assuming the resistor doesn't have polarity connect issue right?
I will let you know if that fixed it.

Resistors aren't polarity sensitve.

 

dome light is bright AF! love this thing. Just need dually maps to finish it off.

However, i did notice something odd.
I have the dome set to Door and when i open every door but the driver side, they come on and stay on until the door is shut.
Drivers side only, they come on and immediately dim off.
Odd?
