I’ve just upgraded my 2008 wiring loom for my Ute to a 2012 with the 2.7 litre engine.

A few wires needed to be changed in the existing connectors but overall fairly straight forward. I have one error that has come up though, P0412. I have googled it and I’m getting conflicting info on it.

Has anyone got any ideas what it might be? It now turns over, runs for a few seconds and then cuts out. That might happen 2 or 3 times and then it will turn over but won’t start at all.

    Any help would be appreciated:)

Here's the section from the 2005 FSM covering that code.

From a quick glance, it's something with the air injection valve.

Thanks buyobuyo. This is a better description that what I have found online. Yes it looks like tis secondary air valve although I saw another Toyota specific one that said it was a misread between the ecu and the loom. I'm a little suprised that this is enough to make the engine not run though.

When the SAI shits the bed, it puts the truck I to limp mode. Never heard of it making the truck not run though.

Funny you should say that because I thought the same thing. I used the mechanic next door to me and he came up with another code P2799 security engine immobiliser... that’s looking a lot more likely now:) think I need to hit the manual again haha

    LOL :)

The only thing I learned in Perth is the girls are easy and the beer is good!

But today I learned something new so it is a good day! Thanks.

Read it! Enjoyed every page haha. Thank you BassAckwards. My build was based around the look of the F150 lightning but in a smaller more 'aussie' way (read price of fuel and rego is stupidly high here). How she was looking in pic 1 when it was going.. pic 2 and 3 is how she is now with the upgraded harness etc..
