Outran a 5.3 avalanche on my way home today.

The guy was pretty cool though, he complimented the truck afterwards. I think that’s the first person I’ve run since putting the blower on. This was on the conservative stage 1 pulley/tune so there’s still room for improvement:devil:

I'm not saying I want to make money using my truck once it's turbo... but I wouldn't be against it. :burnrubber:

I’m sure it’ll be a sleeper by the time you’re done with it. I am looking forward to someone building a 2TR and seeing what kind of numbers they can put down. They sure do respond well to boost

My updated goal after more researching and planning, is to hit 25lbs of boost. I think I'll be struggling keeping a clutch or tires in it at that level. No idea what the limits of the r155 are that this truck has.

That sounds like a good round number lol. Do you know how much the stock intake manifold can take before it needs upgrading? I have wondered how necessary it is to swap intake manifolds once you start pushing it

I have read some stuff online and it’s sounds like it’s a beefed up version of the r154 that comes in the is300 and Supra. From what I’ve read you can use the billet shift forks for the r154 in them as well.

I figured I'd put a block off plate on one side of the intake I have lying in my garage, and another on the other side with an air chuck and try putting 25psi to it.

The bigger thing I'd be worried about is the heat. I remember talking with 05taco4x4 a while back about a metal intake and the flange to mate it to the 2tr. As well as the performance fuel rails. I definitely want to lean that way, but we'll see how things go.

That would be a good way to test it, I bet the plastic holds up pretty well. A nice aluminum one will always be calling my name though

He does make some nice stuff for sure. The fuel rail is on my list one day too, it’ll probably happen whenever the injectors need upgrading. Have you figured out what size primaries you’re going to run with your build?

I have my parts list saved somewhere... I just have to find it again now that I'm getting back into Tacoma things! I honestly can't remember off the top of my head, I talked about it and decided which ones over in the turbo bs thread at some point...

I missed a lot while I took a hiatus after my white taco died. Did @MrCrowntown ever get his LCE built turbo engine going?

I couldn't agree more, his is one of my favorites for sure, all of his work is super clean. When you say GTR coil packs you mean like Nissan GTR?

Did you pull the motor out of your white truck and sell the body?

Nope, the motor pictured is the spare I was rebuilding for the white truck. When the white truck lost the fight with the deer I sold it as it was. The motor had 250k hard miles on it and was drinking oil like a mill worker drinks alcohol.

I decided a couple weeks ago I'm going to keep the truck so I'll have it tuned in the coming weeks, my goal is by Feb.
