Reworked the tail section of my exhaust today so the exit is behind the rear tire again and also added a TRD catback exhaust tip i had laying around. I think the turn down was making the exhaust resonate between the road and the bed. This should hopefully take care of that

You are correct about the turn down.

I guess there’s a reason it came that way from the factory. It’d be nice if this eliminated some of the noise in the cab too. It’s pretty close to where id like it to be

@BassAckwards did you previously have a actual turndown or did you cut over the axle?

I haven't done anything other then exhaust other then lce headers. I like the sound it makes now & don't wanna change except maybe dump it ovr the axle. Do you know how much orif that changes the sound @ all? Don't know what I wanna do as far as exhaust or if I do

I think youll be okay with the stock muffler dumped after the axle. The problem is once you go to an aftermarket catback theyre typically much louder so any drone youd get from having those dumped after the axle is amplified

Can confirm having the exit out of the side helps a lot. My truck turns lots of revs on the hwy and this definitely made a difference

I’ll be running 33x10.5 boggers. And since I commented I just went ahead and ordered 5.29s dude. I’ll be screamin on the high ways for about 12-15 minutes or I can crank it back to 65 and be chillin around 26-2800 r’s. It’ll be fine because the rest of my way home I only do like 60. And ya I’d agree that the truck will feel better that’s why I went with em. I don’t wana strain the motor. Was thinkin of grabbin some 35” highway tires too

I am running 37s on 4.88s (5spd). Your motor is gonna handle 33s on 5.29s with no problem.78522A61-2E7E-45F4-96D9-84C8BEC6BA92.jpg

With 37s and 5.29s, I'm right at 2800 rpms at 75 mph. This last road trip I took, I did between 75 and 80 most of the time and averaged just over 12 mpg. I ran 4.88s with 33s and 35s before. The 4.88s/33s were ideal as far as power goes and mpgs weren't that bad because I used less gas pedal but running on the highway over 75 felt like I was beating the shit out of the motor. This is with the 5 speed manual.

I know this is the performance thread but I am hoping someone here has some experience with this. Has anyone changed out their master cylinder?
    0EA6AFF8-B4D2-4552-BF31-35F23F902670.jpg
Toyota has discontinued the 05-11 clutch master cylinder, and 12-15 used a different part # but looks identical aside from the part the pedal contacts. Curious if anyone else has done the same. I would order the Aisin for the 05-11 but it seems I cannot find any retailers that have them in stock. I could get other brands but they are plastic body like the one currently in the truck, idk if it matters but it seems kind of cheap to me.

    A thing or two...
Did you check Rock Auto? I just checked, and it looks like Aisin is in stock there.

I replaced mine back in 2018 but i used the 05-11 part that is unavailable now. It was a metal body though, so i would try to stick with Aisin if possible. It's a real pain in the ass to get the hard line started so you want to make sure you only have to do that once.

Here's a few places that let you add them to your cart. Maybe you'll get lucky and one will have one? 31420-04011 is what i used on my 09 5spd 2.7

I did but I didn't know if I trusted them to actually have it, I may try calling them tomorrow and confirm if they have it.

Most likely not going to work through any of those toyota dealers. My dealer tried to find one in the US and he told me there is 138 back orders on the part with no delivery date set for them yet :/
