After putting those digits into a calculator. Thats a pretty relevant free gain your engine was already making. 2-3% of net HP is 7-10.5 HP at the crank for a simple $70 part. The teflon model depending on application was closer to the 4% range. Thats a whopping 14 ponies at the crank on a 350hp build.

I've never seen/heard of these before. What exactly do they do and what's the benefit?

They probably get away with it by saying "up to"

Pretty sure it was a 2010 one year only offering. I’m betting they didn’t sell too many, but that’d be a sweet daily

Haha you and me both. I bet that thing is a dog trying to merge on the hwy

I thought the electronic brake booster was interesting to see next to the 2TR. I only ever see vacuum brake boosters

I just reached out to Quantum Solenoids, and they confirmed that they do make something for the single VVTI 2TR-FE application, but they are out of stock at the moment. I asked them to contact me when they become available again, so we’ll see what happens:fingerscrossed:

Interesting... I think they're a different sensor though, and seeing they already had mounting tab location problems I don't think they'd be a direct swap. I'm very curious how these boost any power?

They’re definitely different from the v6 ones, I’m guessing there may be a few fitment issues that need to be worked out for the 2TR, but they made it sound like they had something for the 2.7 Tacoma application. I asked about 05-15 trucks specifically.

From what I’ve read it sounds like this is all oil pressure control and improving that to the vvti system. I don’t understand much more beyond that, but their dynos look promising. I might take the $250 gamble at some point though
