Sorry guys don’t shoot the messenger! The vendor can’t make Magnuson move any quicker!
Because I’m inline too for another one for our 15 Access cab. It’s the one that the Rotrex was removed from before it gave up the ghost like many do… Robert is correct the URD has more top end. But I will say the header & loud (freer flowing) exhaust helped (by the butt Dyno) and I hate loud exhaust unless is 7000 RPMs or more! Next is to get it re-tuned with the water methanol system.

I got pulled mine before it kicked the bucket! Mine was installed on 5-19-20 @ 24,120 and removed on 6-9-21 @ 26,321. After I purchased mine I had knee replacement surgery in recovery I started researching the unit itself and that’s when I started reading about the shaft snapping and they ALL fail the same place & way. Sorry Rotrex owner’s it’s not if, but when will it snap! One bad luck owner *edit* @Rola2010 found someone in Australia (I believe) that rebuilds them now.

Im quite interested to see how long mine holds on. I flush the fluid every 2-3k miles in the reservoir and have my cooler completely exposed near my bumper. We'll see if that helps some or if they're all destined to snap off. Man you didnt run yours long! Im guessing you sold the URD kit?

Yes could not sell it fast enough. I know many think G a good guy but he has known about the Rotrex issue for a long time!! He posted a picture of the new updated shaft but they are still snapping!
Here’s another YouTube star that lost his… Sorry guys I’m stopping here and now before I get in trouble from a G fanboy turning me in. I can show you MANY more but I’m done with this topic…

The shaft "upgrade" is far from sufficient. Luckily, the Rotrex units are far cheaper to be purchased from the country of origin(or at least two years ago they were).

The rebuilder I found is in the UK; here's a link to the post: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2tr-fe-supercharger-stuff.693777/#post-25795286. My experience is that he is a good guy to work with, and does good work. If/when it does fail I would consider having him repair it again, unless I decide to go turbo or, more likely, just return the truck back to stock.

I’m at about 5k miles of daily driver use and so far so good. I installed a small electric fan from Amazon for the oil cooler to keep air moving in stop and go traffic, and a small temperature gauge via a t-fitting between the oil reservoir to the Rotrex input just to collect data.

i doubt it would as the studs for the intake mani on the cylinder head are going to be different between the 3rz and the 2tr. Im betting the new maggy comes with the intake manifold adapter you'll need to get it bolted up

Sorry and don’t shoot the messenger but the vendor can NOT get the supercharger from Magnuson!
Good idea on the header & you might want look at a better flowing quite exhaust system too! I have TWO 5x8x18 Magnaflow’s one after the other and I make women & children run for cover.
You might also want to look at a water / methanol system too as the Magnuson system doesn’t have an intercooler. From what I hear you be able to purchase both for less than the cost of the Rotrex system but don’t “quote” me on this as they are trying to get final numbers for Magnuson and the Tuner. The tuning will be remote on the stock ECU.
Oh, and no need for a spacer. As you will get a complete new aluminum manifold that bolts to the block & the supercharger mounts to the manifold…

Yep he said they were having tuning issues with the ECU and causing engine issues.

Funny because I’m one of the two Guinea Pig’s! I’m here in AZ the other owner in the Seattle area.
Most likely because the tuner might be to busy to reply to request or because we aren’t driving Ferrari’s or Porsche’s. I have called the tuner many times as they wanted to retune with the water / methanol system. No luck with returning any phone calls…
