    Hmmm…
Last time I was at LCE they had a 2TR engine sitting on an engine stand. The GM said that they just used it to mock up and they were thinking about selling it. So that might be a thought…

Depending on the condition of my current crank with rod knock, I may have one out of another block I could sell. Gotta see what my current is looking like first though.

Well I don’t know if I should say anything but what the Hell!
I had an employee from the Magnuson supercharger vendor stop by this weekend to measure the nosecone of the supercharger. Apparently there are a few different lengths of cones and all very close in length. Some how the vendor miss placed the part number and the Magnuson employee up and left Magnuson.
Well now to the good stuff, Magnuson is going to fast track some blowers to the vendor so the vendor can get out a few ( Five I understand ) to get started.
Also now that I have a Innovate Boost gauge installed I found a long stretch of two lane road with no traffic to try a 0 to 100 run. Running up through the gears I saw 10 pounds of boost on the gauge.
I need to see if the new Innovate gauge is calibrated correctly but if it is this much pressure makes me a bit nervous. If you look closely you should be able to see the SS braided line for the water methanol system. The tuner now only has a 1# nozzle on the system but it’s still using a little bit of Boost Juice. The washer fluid bottle had as much as could fit before my about 50 miles of driving this pass weekend.
The hash marks are quarts with the very top mark being 14oz. Oh, the washer bottle holds about a 138oz of fluid. I have my drain at the very bottom of the bottle. It’s a 12mm to 4an fitting taped in.

Sorry I don’t know, he said they were getting 5 to start with and I was told June but I doubt that with the way things have been going since COVID started. Prices for anything automotive have gone through the roof and parts are hard to impossible to get. Kind of like when people started hoarding toilet paper! Can you say Stupid? Now some JackAss dictator wants to take over a Country. So to fight back the USA is going to stop buying less than 3% of it’s supply from the dictator. So gas prices jump OVER $1 a gallon in less than a week‼️ Somethings are just stupid now and I wish I could tell you but I don’t know. I wish us ALL the best of luck in the future as we need it…

So I know this is more over the top than most of us will ever go, but I see that LCE offers a dry sump pan for the 3rz. I'm going to try and contact them tomorrow to find out if they could offer one for the 2tr as well. With my planned autocross use, and the fact that I developed rod knock after one season of racing, it's a route I want to look into.

Does the 3RZ have an upper pan, like the 2TR?

Those of you who have the alibaba manifold/downpipe, is the downpipe worth getting? I know it’s just $50 more, but with some of the fitment issues, the weight/quality of materials, and the geometry to the ac lines, I’m wondering if I’ll just end up making one anyway, if the downpipe causes too many issues to mount properly.

Ok guys I got this from the horses mouth!
LCE is going to start back with the equal length header for the 2TR. But the price is going up! The Stainless tubing has more than double in price and the time it takes to build is longer. Time is money plus the cost of material.
Jesus Christ just look at gas prices and the price of used Tacoma’s. Hell buy a new Tacoma leave it bone stock, take care of it, (like flipping the floor mats upside down) get the oil changed from Toyota @ N/C then at the end of the year sell for $500 or more then you paid for it.

Yes, they switched to making a short tube, and I don't think it was as popular?

LOL, I did tell them they should look at a turbo manifold and system because the other one is supposed to be a POS!
What they should do is build a kit to retrofit all the dead Rotrex kits out there. :deadhorse:
I would have been first in line.

Ok, A few here know that I have a connection with LC Engineering. LCE stop building the Equal Length street / shortie header because of what I understand as cost. Their cost for the Stainless tubing has gone through the roof‼️ Just look at gas prices… They didn’t think owners would pay the price increase. So they designed a new header that used less material and takes less time to manufacture.
I myself was against the change in the design.
So just a short time ago I got a call from the GM of LCE letting me know that they made a few of the equal length headers to see how they sell. So if you are willing to pay the extra premium for the equal length header it’s available but it’s not advertised on the website. You need to call and ask for it.
Again I’m just letting Tacoma World members get a head start or a chance to make the decision.

Also the Magnuson supercharger/s have been ordered from Magnuson. Once the vendor gets the blowers they will build just 5 kits. As of now they are still working on the tuning with a few choices. They were working with an outside tuner that said they could remote tune. This tuner has not always gotten back in a timely manner to answer questions. This tuner “Re-flashes” the stock ECU… This is our 2TR in a 07 5 lug reg. cab. It has the aforementioned header w/ a Snow water meth system. Other than that the drive train is bone stock even the muffler.

If prices keep going the same I’ll be able to sell mine for a profit… :D
