Great write up. I like the looks of the new switches you have now. They blend in, first ones kinda jumped out at you. Excellent job.

Thanks. The two toggles were cheap and the red button was laying around the house. I was mainly wanting to make sure everything worked. Since it did I bought better switches.

I could see this mod being very handy. Backing up my trailer even empty is a pain. Feels like I am burning up the clutch. Sometimes I think first gear is to low and reverse is to high.

So you need 3 individual switches to do this? And have to throw all 3 to be in 2Lo?

nice mod. used basically the same thing to pull a boat up a steep ramp with a 95. just put in 4-low without hubs locked in. shame they did away w/lockout hubs.

Yeah I have heard pros and cons about both locking hubs and ADD. We just have to work with what they give us :).

You would be better off with a double pole, double throw switch. That allows you to control two independant circuits with one switch. You'll need those extra switch positions one day. I assume the two switches you have now are only controlling one circuit each/single pole, single throw.

no they are dpdt's. there are 4 total wires from the wiring harness once cut then its 8 wires + 2 ground hookups. so you need two switches. its all in that diagram.

If you ever need the space you could always go to a single switch controlling a relay bank. That would obviously increase the space and cost but would make for a cleaner end user look. To be honest though, I think it looks pretty great as it is. Nice work.

Well I took your advise and I have made new diagram for using a SPST and 2 DPDT relays. I'm going to buy the relays and get everything installed and make sure everything is working and I'll post the new diagram.

So I had a few people suggesting relays so I changed up my install to two DPDT relays and a SPST switch and everything is working fine. Here's the new diagram:
