This is my first Toyota truck and I really like it's a 02 base 4 cylinder regular cab 2wd manual. I have a 3/4 ton 4wd truck but I would like to install a rear locker in the Toyota. Are there any options for a 2.4L 2wd base truck? I've found some ARB, Powertrax but it doesn't look like they will work in this truck. It looks like they only list a 2wd V6 option. Am I stuck with what I have? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. How do I know that it's a 8 in. rear end? Is that what they put in these trucks.

Your truck is a 7.5" Rear. 8" is for Prerunner 4cyl, 7.5" is for the 4cy 5 luggers from what I know

There are no Elockers available for this rear end. I believe I did ind Air lockers when I was shopping though.

A lot of guys do the Eaton Powertrax Lock Rite.

I have an Aussie locker in mine and love it. Did a lot of research and this one seemed to fit me needs well. ON 30-950 tires it unlocked very easily. On the wider 1050's I am spinning my tires a little more when turning but Im sure thats just because I havnt adjusted my driving to them yet.

Aussie locker says the locker fits 95-99 7.5" Rear ends but the rear end did not change through 04 on these trucks.

    Im a 99 2.4l

Thanks, so it's a 7.5" rear. I found the Powertrax locker after I posted this. I think that's the way I'm going to go. It's such a useful little truck if I could get it to lock up I wouldn't have to use the big truck to just run out to the barn for 5 bailes of hay. I just bought Duler At Revo's in 225/75/15 and that's helped alot with a locker it should do fine. Is there any way to know for sure what size the rearend is? I'm ready to buy this thing.

Ask a local shop but everything ive ever seen says you are 7.5" including the Spec sheets for these lockers.

I love my Aussie Locker. Its cheaper than the Powertrax and has less backlash and such. Makes for a smoother ride. Do some research on each before you choose. I looked at lockers for months before buying mine.
