Hey guys, been a taco owner less than 3 weeks and love my truck. This is my first post here...

I followed the advice of a friend at an accessories shop and went with the Readylift 3/2 spacer kit. Man do I regret that. The ride is ok, truck looks awesome but it sure is rough on the back end in the pot holes.

    Any advice?

Shop is suggesting I get rear shocks with more travel, in my opinion a kift like this should have shocks as part of the kit. (My 2011 Suzuki spacer kit came with rear shocks)

Will this help or should I just ditch the lift and start again? I don’t do my own installs so that sucks.

If I should ditch the lift, what is a good 1-3” lift that won’t break the bank but still provide a nice ride?
I will off road it some but likely nothing extreme.

Bilstein 5100's sound like your best bet, I'll tag you in a recent thread that would probably be a good set up. Are you from PEI?

Bilsteins seem to be the go to for most around here. I’m not sure they are much better than a stock shock honestly. And from what I noticed when running them is that they require a decent amount of weight in the bed before the ride is enjoyable. They Are pretty stiff in my opinion.

From what I gather reading on the forum, 5100's are a happy medium between the sport and offroad shocks. Your probably the same guy I was messaging with the OR wheels for sale on FB eh?

This does seem to be the popular choice from what I’ve seen on the Facebook pages.

I can’t seem to get much info on them. Are they a 1” lift or a 2” lift?
I’ll be adding a winch up front and possibly a storage system and cap in the back which will add 200-600 lbs.

I have the ReadyLift 3/2 and like it a lot. Seems to ride like a truck.

I guess if you want something that rides nice and smooth you probably will need to spend a little more money than a spacer kit will cost you.

Maybe check out the Icon or Fox? For about $3K you should be able to get it to ride nice and smooth.

It's your truck so you should have what want.

I honestly can’t recall the lift. I think it’s 1”. A winch up front would be fine with them. Are you planning to run the winch on a “stock” style bumper? If you’re adding a plate bumper I’d suggest running something more than a 2” shock. I run a winch and bumper upfront as well and had to bump up to Fox 2.5” coil overs with 650 coils to be happy with it.

Your bumpstops still work or will the shock bottom out first?

How long have you been running this kit? And have you had any issues? Any ball joints go or anything at all?

Totally disagree on all points but you have a 2nd gen. Billstein has a 3rd Gen specific version so we were running different shocks. The 3rd Gen is also a heavier truck. They are really perfectly valved in my opinion.

I've had it for a year and three months. It was installed by my dealer and I haven't had any problems at all.

It doesn't ride like a cadillac and is a little more stiff than the day I bought it but it rides like a truck and looks great.
