he has 2" beer can blocks and 4x4 leaf pack with a flipped overload leaf. From what I have seen, it is not notched, but I am not sure when the picture I saw of the rear was taken. I'm gonna be doing the same thing soon, but my front will consist of the J&J 1.25" spindle spacer and the Sittin Sic 1.75" drop coils.

but yeah...in the back im running 2" beer can aluminum blocks with my 4X4 leafs and the stock mini overload in the unhappy position. NO NOTCH! RUNUMHARD! hahaha...nah it dosen't ride too bad...even with my shot to hell rear shocks (gonna change em out after recon and my paycheck lol). and i do have a bit of driveshaft vibe so i gotta go and get me some tapered 2"ers....thats why i went with the aluminum ones cause i wanted to see if i needed the tapered ones or not.

so yeah its a DJM little more than 3" front and 3.75" rear

and doing alignment by eye is horrible. i never want to try and do that again. and the eccentric bolt and nut are bastard bolts.

and their RX8 rims with Goodyear Comfortred 225/60/18s

    3/4 drop
So I've had the 3/4 drop for some time now with DJM shocks on my 04 taco. On the east side of Cleveland Ohio, where our streets see 100+ inches of snow and salt 4 months out of the year, our streets suck. The ride in my truck can be summed up by my new personalized license plate, "RUF RYD".

I want to do two things. One, I want to soften the ride up a bit, the DJM struts are just too harsh for these streets.

The second thing I want to do is limit my front suspension travel because with the stock size rims and tires (in the winter) my front tires hit the wheel wells when I hit really big bumps

I was thinking to do this I would need higher spring rate front springs with some adjustable or softer shocks. Does anyone know of a stock length spring with a higher than stock rate? Would possibly getting stock replacement springs do what I want, as I have 5+ years on my current springs and they have sagged over time?

Does anyone have a similar experience with the 3/4 drop as I do? Do you just live with it, or what did you do to improve the ride?

    Thanks,

Go to customtacos for a ton of info regarding your truck. This place is mainly 2nd gen lifted. Your front inner fender rubbing problem is common on the 95.5-04 5 luggers when low. I have some better poly front bump stops that will definitely help, but they aren't a cure. You need to keep your overall tire height in the 25" range. What size tires and wheels are you running? My guess is they're slightly too tall for your 3/4 drop. A c-notch in the frame is absolutely necessary with 4" blocks to get your factory ride back, I know you're hitting frame. Plus that DJM kit didn't come with any rear bumps, so I started offering my low pro bolt on bumps that use a Energy bump for quality. They run $37. I just my 10th QA1 front coil over setup yesterday on my friends 95.5. It's a bolt on deal and the only way to get a front end that's adjustable up and down and it'll open up spring rates, adjustable shocks and all fully rebuildable. You have a PM Bryan.
