Rebuilt my sc using ceramic bearings in the snout. Lets see how they hold up

My truck had 123710 miles on it after rebuild

I bought my sc used so i had no idea the actual miles on it. It made a kind of chirping noise at an idle. Ive owned another 3.4 sc before and I have a couple friends with them. None of them make this noise.. So i decided to rebuild so i would know its dependable

first off I used this to rebuild.

Ceramic bearing kit from rolling performance CBBSNOUTKIT03
I also did the rotor bearings #INRBRG. and new coupler

rebuild is not really that difficult. Use a press if you can. Its just kind of nerve racking.

I did bust a bolt when i was reinstalling the snout so i ordered new ones from Fastenal . I think they look good

I'm curious to know if these bearings will quiet down the supercharger much at idle. I recently rebuilt mine, but it really didn't need it, but peace of mind is good enough for me to have done it. Hopefully the ceramic bearings do you well though!

mine was doing the marble grumbling sound at idle so rebuilt it regular bearings tho, noise is gone and sounds good now. this will be a good review on the ceramics, nice work!

mine sounds alot better. it still has a slight grumble at idle. but you really can't hear it in the cab. Well worth the effort and time.

Any update on how well these ceramic bearings held up? I am looking at 4R w/ a S/C and am thinking about upgrading to the ceramic bearings when I rebuild the S/C.
