3.4 v6 coil pack/plug question

    getting there....
    this is gonna sound kinda weird......but upon further inspection of the 3.4 v6 in my 04.........i see coil packs one one side, and then on the other side there are 3 regular plug wires. weird as hell!!!! ami missing something here?? shouldnt there be coil packs on all cylinders??? what the hell??

    I had a '99 Xtra Cab PreRunner SR5 V6
    The coil packs help fire the plugs on the other side.
