    image.jpg image.jpg Looking for an engine for my 1997 Tacoma with low miles, 75,000 or less.

    from a rollover to a rear end crash or???

    I want an engine that can be verified for miles.

    I've looked on carparts and found a few but the salvage yards
    Can't give me proof of miles, just a 90 day warranty.
    For all I know they could be selling me an engine with 200,000 miles
    that is listed for sale with 120,000

    My engine went 489,000 miles with no issues with a superchager till the head gasket went,
    so I'm not worried about a 90 warranty,
    Just want to find an engine with low miles that has proof like in the truck or
    with the carfax info. Any help would be great

    Hey man I have a 3.4 that will hopefully be for sale! I totaled my truck a week ago! My bumper saved my entire front end nothing is damaged mechanically with the engine! Started right back up! Always ran mobile 1 synthetic! It was BABIED! If everything goes as planned in the next couple weeks I am going to buy back the truck as salvage and part out! I am just down here in Pueblo and my motor only has 125,000 miles and I am a 5 speed like yours! I know its not 75,000 or below but its a very clean motor! If your interested shoot me a message!

    From what I've heard you have no idea of the miles on theses JDK Japanese engines , forget What the seller is saying when they advertise
    that they have 50,000 miles or so, there's no law over there that retires these engines either, they can say what ever they want as far as miles and they have no proof. So your just taking a gamble if you go that route.
    For all you know you are buying an engine with 200,000 miles.
    Also my Toyota parts dealer said that these engines can be problematic for getting the emissions to work with the JDK engine because they were designed with differant emission controls and do not have the correct bolt holes for the emission parts.
    It can be done but it's a pain from what I hear.

    Haha, cuz I already have a supercharger, and would be a lot of work to try and make 2.7 or 4. Liter fit.
    With the supercharger on the 3.4 it puts out a lot more power than the standard 4 liter or the 2.7,
    Anyways found an engine and it's running great , was an easy swap with. 2004 motor

    Yup swapped in a motor that had around 100,000 miles, a 2004 motor, and is running great, no issues
