So you don't have to fill up with 91, you can just use 87?

No, you still need 91 octane because your only spraying in boost like me at
4 pounds up which will be different for each engine setup and nozzle size. If you were spraying sooner and more then you could but
that would not be cost effective or practical.

If you were running 85-87 the engine would be pinging much sooner.

Methonal is used for where the fuel system when it is running lean like the 7th injection,
Not to be spraying all the time.
It fills in that lean area with more octane.

If you ran 110 octane gas it will cost per gallon 10.00 per gallon or more maybe?
and being consumed all the time. Methonal is only being used as a in demand situation. So actually if I drove under 4 pounds of boost I would actually not use and methonal.

If your setup was for drag racing then yes it probably would be setup for spraying
    all the time.

If you change the TPS sensor and clean the throttle body, do not replace with an aftermarket OEM sensor. Go to the dealer and pay the extra $10. The truck started bucking me like a bull at 2500 RPMS with the aftermarket sensor. The Toyota part stopped the bucking and back to normal. These trucks hate aftermarket parts. Just sayin....

No definitely not E85... I’m never going that far with the 5vz and tuning. I’d do an LS swap at that point.

I’m mentioning the 85 pump gas since we’re at elevation and less air (naturally aspirated) doesn’t need as much fuel to run fine in our trucks. Places at lower elevations have 87 as the lowest grade at the pump.

But this is the supercharger thread, so we’ll get back to that since you reminded us with our brain fart:

Today is your supercharger install day?

Make sure the mechanic takes a photo of your intake valves so you know what carbon build up you have.

These are mine because of the methonal they are squeak clean and another 3.4 that has issues

The supercharger is on. No ping. And no ping. when the mechanic test drove it, no ping right off the bat So, it seems like everything is running as it should. Thank you everybody. Thank you John! The power is noticeably more. The sound is addictive.

Nice here’s my setup , u should get the pre-set urd AFR calibrator to take care of the close-loop, that’s what I have and no complaints/ping. No need to worry about downshifting just WOT smooth all the way till the meth kicks in to take cause of AFR after 3krpm5574E11D-5627-49E2-84CB-5D81C85AB441.jpg

How easy is the URD AFR calibrator install?

I assume that helps take care of the lag between closed loop and open loop when going 3/4 throttle?

Pretty easy 4 wires and tee a vacuum into the box then your set , comes with a pre-set map on the system but can be able to tune it if u want ,just that I ran it out of the box pre-set,

Yes helps when u go from close to open

The URD AFR Calibrator could be used by its self or with your current fuel controller. However it is best used in conjunction with a MAF signal calibrator like our URD Fuel/Timing Calibrator.

If y'all are starting to get into tacking on a bunch of piggyback electronics like the AFR Calibrator, Additional Injector Controller / Timing Calibrator (7th injector computer), or others, I recommend reading both of Gadget's documents:
